I spend a little coin on the Dmax. Getting there now. I need a long range tank. This has only a 65 liter tank. The Patrol had 150 or so. I have found a good replacement with 135 liter. Without the camper on the back I would not need it but with the camper on the bac and traveling a little remote some extra fuel is welcome. The old chassis is now outside and ready for pick up. I have given it away. The new one is now set up ready to get the suspension, axles etc put on again. The suspension is serviced and painted. The front axle needs new bearings. I am picking up a special tool for that one next weekend.

I like these tough little Daihatsu Taft's. They were reasonable popular back in the day. Toyota sold them as the Blizzard. www.facebook.com/Blizzard.fan.page/Parts might be still available here in Australia. Cheers

Can you not put the electric seat on the passenger side and the passenger seat on the drivers side. Have the "electric" passenger seat adjust to a general pleasant/comfortable setting and that's what it is. A not adjustable passenger seat.

This VW was all that was left over after sitting outside for a long time. Maryborough is the birthplace of P. L. Travers. She is best known for the Mary Poppins series of books. All pedestrian crossing lights look like this

My wife is going out with a friend today. So, I have no excuse to don't work on the 2CV. I have been looking at these massive nuts. I did not have any tool that would get these undone with out damaging these nuts. They were very tight. I needed something that would grip these nuts really well and something with a bit of a long arm or something that I could put some weight on or use as a lever. I looked at spanners, vice grips etc. As I most likely won't be playing with nuts this size much I wanted to buy something like large multi grips. Of to the shops it was. Got to the first round about near my place and look what I found..... I just tried if these would work. That big one is exact what I needed. My nuts are hanging lose and as soon as my darling is gone spending money I will go out and do some more work. By the way, I won't complain about her spending a little money at all. She has walked past the car a few times and haven't even noticed the new mags I put on yesterday.....I wonder if she will notice the new bull bar and snorkel on Tuesday.

Good morning all Firstly, (i know I have done this before but can't remember how to do it) how do I change my heading. The APV has long gone and I want to replace it with something else. I haven't done a great deal of work on my 2CV6. As you know I bought a new car. The Isuzu in the pictures. I think that this was enough of an excuse to go on holidays. We choose Hervey Bay this time. Only 4 hrs drive. A nice and easy drive. A good trip to get to know the car and how it drives with the camper on the back. I did upgrade the suspension before we left. It drives great. I think even better than the Patrol.

I hope the new owner will enjoy his or her new car. It's something special.
I see some new kids on the block in your current fleet status. Do you have photo's of this lot?
'85 Datsun Laurel (42k miles only) '90 Honda Legend (JDM import) '90 Nissan Primera (an early one) '93 Ford Mondeo (an early one) '94 Renault Laguna (yep, an early one)

Your built motivates me to pick up the tools again and keep going. You get things done. I have been procrastination for weeeeks now. I am ready to pull things further apart and start building up again but I get distracted all the time. Keeping in mind that I only work 2 days a week....
Anyway, keep chipping away mate, I really like what you are doing and it keeps me going too...

Hi Rian
You are doing a great job showing me that I will let the sandblasting/cleaning up to the professionals. Thank you for always being informative and fun to read ;-)
Have a great day

After many many very very enjoyable kilometres and many awesome holidays, the Patrol will go up for sale. I bought this thing this afternoon The canopy will go to make room for the camper. This is a 2017 Isuzu D'Max Turbo diesel automatic 4WD. I loved the Patrol but it's a very heavy car and with the camper it always felt a little under powered. I also wanted an car with automatic gearbox. I hope we will have as much fun with the Dmax as we have had with the Patrol.

The crane doesn't fit through the sliding door at the back where the table is. I can it out the garage but then need to go around the garage pushing or pulling it through the grass. Besides that it will sink in the dirt, I don't want these shiny wheels of my crane dirty ;-)

Now waiting for my son to get it on the table. Can't lift it by myself.

But, I have picked up where I left. Bought a engine crane. Isn't this a beauty. I found a few second hand ones for $250 so I bought a new one for $200.... We have lift of Ready for cleaning and checking Not much left I built this little table to put the engine on. It's ugly and built with my eyes closed but it's strong and sits in the sun. A great spot to enjoy some sunshine and potter around the motor.
