I've finally brought my spare premiums into my car parts shop based in west Lancashire... sold a few and signed up with a distributor.. If anyone is intrested in a stock list I'll post one, its not a massive list :-( I would be if you have any older Alfa Romeo's or Volvo's. ;-) Thom Not at the moment Thom. I am expecting some more of the Hot Wheels Car Culture - Canyon Warriors - '73 Volvo 142 GL but the older Amazons etc are becoming quite pricey even direct from mattel. If its any use I have a couple of GTV6 Alfa's, spares which can be custom finished and re-packed.

I've watched quite a few of this type of video and from what I've seen he appears to be one of the more respectful UrbExers. Has a liking for practical classics, sensible enough not to show reg numbers etc on the videos.
If I found a collection of 'abandoned' vehicles I'd probably have a good look round too, most of us probably would. It's where the line gets drawn between 'exploring' and 'pillaging'. I cringe at some of the cars they find and the state of disrepair they've been left to fall into but thats the owners choice or circumstance that causes them to be neglected.
One video I spotted recently showed what I think was the original buck for the Eagle SS kit car, stuck in a curtainside truck body. Sat on a pallet ontop of a SD1 Vitesse... and they'll just sit and rot until the owner decides to clear them out or he passes on and the estate is sold off...

18 months later, still working on this, currently I have approx -
2 pallets of air filters 1 pallet of timing belts 1 pallet of misc light units 1 pallet of brake shoes 2/3 pallets of brake pads (low stack due to weight) 1 pallet of misc suspension struts 1 pallet misc intermotor parts (17 fair sized boxes, this is a very large number of items) There will also be brake discs, drums and possibly a few clutches.
All of these are being listed on spreadsheets.

No ChasR, youve not missed it. I inspected the vehicle in my capacity as 'approved club rep' and they won't accept my word it's genuine. Dutton didn't mark the chassis, it was down to the builder. They did supply a production plate (NOT a VIN plate) which was fixed to the body. The number on that plate was used as a VIN on 75% of Duttons. This is still ongoing but IF I ever get a resolution I'll post it LOL

I'm on it like a tramp on chips lads. Been out of the loop for a week due to personal issues. Here is the correct process in this case. Provide photo of production plate via PM as requested. Transfer ownership online if possible as less human involvement = less hassle. This may require the old V5C in which case it will have to be via V62 and snail mail. IF you have the genuine car the DOC will back you to the hilt to get the V5 back. If as suspected it is currently being held on SORN (yes I have a reg) then there may be an issue and the DVLA will contact the last recorded keeper. If he no longer has the physical car it will be very hard for him to provide dated photographic evidence to back up any claim on the V5. Get me those two photo's

I use ' save on tyres direct' on ebay as they supplied the alloy wheels for the transit. These came as a bundle but they gave me a choice on the tyre sizes, odd Chinese brand called hifly but as commercial rated tyres they get my vote. Very pleased with the next day free delivery service too. I think the first set did 20K - 25K miles and only showed signs of wear due to me inflating them to the wrong pressures. I have also used demon tweaks as a supplier for the Toyo's on the kit car. (supply only) My local National Tyres do me a mates rates fitting service as we do them discount on parts. Overall buying online and bribing the local tyre chain fitter to fit and balance has saved me a few quid but mainly due to my choice of rubber as they are not available locally. Sometimes what you save on purchasing, you lose of fitting.

How many of us used to use Crossland filters? I've still got hundreds of them in the stock room... The name is now owned by ECP but i'll bet the filters are made in the far east.

Got to be honest, I only use Gates timing belts. Other aux drive belts we use Continental Direct and Dayco etc.
At least you know the QH one will be newish rather than one sat on the shelf for 30 years.

The offending vehicle is a Dutton Phaeton S3 manufactured and built during 1984/5 and registered 1985 on a Q plate as it was made with parts from more than one donor escort. As previously stated, there is no question in my mind that it's the right vehicle, the DVLA have acknowledged as much BUT due to the current owner being unable to furnish them with a 17 digit number that doesn't exist they have refused the V5C application. Its all currently on hold while the owner goes over the chassis with a microscope looking for a stamped number Has he got a set of letter & number stamps to help him 'find' the correct number He has found a very corroded 'tag' which serves no useful purpose which may or may not have something stamped in it, its welded on the chassis but its a plug weld so may be easy enough to drill out and pop into some Oxywhotsit acid , I'm sure that will have a number on

Hope QH stuff is ok, just realised they’re the suppliers of the cambelt I’ve bought for my sole roadworthy car! We've a bit of a range on the shelf, mainly suspension parts bought in for Duttons. We had one part which was in the wrong box but the Tetrosyl customer services sorted that and found us a 'right' part pretty quick. Other than that, no issues with quality. Only time will tell if the parts hold up in service though.

As far as I know the MOT just tests for the warning lights, using the resistor fools the computer into believing the airbag is still in place so the warning light works on first start as it should but goes out as if the airbag is still in place. MOT also tests for missing airbags where they were originally fitted Oh B****r. Still got all the bits for mine so could always refit. Doesn't help the OP though

Don't know if this is any use but... Just fitted a Mountney wheel to my 98 Eunos. In doing so I had to remove the drivers airbag. This produced the usual warning light on the dash which was resolved by fitting a 3 ohm resistor across the airbag power socket.
