if you fancy a nice tidy low miles W124 E200 and a grand, let me know, I love the van. Sorry man, not looking for part exchange, need to free up the space as we have too many old projects as it is and our camping days are behind us for a while!

A mate is looking for a Ford 107e English axle case and shafts (that's 45" axle with 4x5.5" pcd hubs, not a 46" Mk1 Escort or a 44" 105e with 4 x 108) he has cash waiting if anyone has anything.

Well here we are. Running driving and a bit of paint slapped on. First decent run out of 20 miles done. Now to just enjoy putting the miles on it

Did you video it at all? I love the sound off of a Flathead. No video yet but it does have a nice old skool v8 strumming noise through the 2" pipe

Well for anyone interested in progress, car is now all wired up, and everything is functional (bar the fuel gauge which i thought was dodgy when i bench tested it)
Done 2 shakedown drives and so far the snagging list is this:
1st gear is fooked, wont engage properly, and knocks like the cops trying to get into a crack den - fix - just pull off in 2nd with my massive torque and new clutch lol...
speedo screeches above 15mph to make me deaf, probly never been lubed up - fix - white grease it up later
speedo tells me I'm doing 70+ in 2nd, 10 foot from a T junction by a school, I'm sure its not quite accurate... - fix - see above
passenger door decides to not shut and fly open turning left - fix - curse word my pants a little then lock it from inside and set it aside to look at later
Other than that, everything else seems pretty golden tbh

Why not both? There's still time to order some purple. Why keep it one colour... satin paint isnt that expensive, and sanding it back for another driveway paint job isnt too hard lol. Maybe next year itll be purple

Just spotted something, please don’t do it nato green 😬 They actually look quite good in the satin olive. Id like to do a proper nice paint job but the chrome is a bit curse word to carry it off, so USAF staff car look itll have to be

This is looking really good, not far off your first proper bumble about I'm guessing? On holiday for all of next week but once I'm back ill be finishing off fitting the front clip sheet metal, skimming some repairs and doing minor body work tidying as well as wiring it completely from scratch. Then ill take it for a spin, fix whatever breaks and do the finishing bits

I think this shows the finished floors a little better, all finished top and bottom in rust proof satin black paint, underside will also get bitumin paint or upol gravitax eventually just to make sure it lasts another 60 years.

Awesome car. GreatProgress.I love the Firestone Firehawk tires. Did they come with the car? Are they any good or old and perished? Old and perished sadly. They hold pressure though and have good tread and havent dry rotted through like the original rears so they'll do for a turn around the block!

Usually prefer Ts with a turtledeck but thats looking bang on with just the fuel cell. Love the British grill shell too. But you have to keep it mounted behind the suicide perch for sure.
