Do people think it's too expensive?
Lots of nice comments but no phone calls or viewings yet...
Seems a good car compared to what else is available for this kind of money.

Potentially interested in trades as well, I'm looking for something bigger and more comfortable.
Think old Volvo estate, merc coupe, audi etc or something big bargy/fast cruiser no later than mid 90's please and preferably older!
Try me though as if it's interesting and I've not had one before I might fancy it!

It would definitely look the part and I would be happy with it if I was keeping the car but I thought it would be a good opportunity to replace the front fogs, they aren't too bad but they are the originals and not looking as nice as the rest of the car...
Loving the diesel, looks great!

Thanks very much, it's definitely a great condition little pug and an absolute pocket rocket.
People are forever tailgating you on the motorway/A roads only to find out they can't keep up!
I am trying to find some reasonably priced yellow tint fog lamps and a standard gear knob, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it and they will be fitted and included in the sale!
The exhaust has a small blow on the down pipe, it just needs a little weld as otherwise it is in really good condition.
If I can find somewhere to do it for a reasonable amount of money I will also get this done at some point after payday!

Peugeot 205 GT TU3S (85bhp) Twin Choke for sale with full MOT - passed with no advisories. No significant rust or rot anywhere including body, sills, floor pan or engine bay and car has never been welded before, looking through the MOT history it has never had an advisory for rust, Receipts for recent work (within the last 1000 miles) including cam belt, drive shaft, water pump, discs and pads, wheel bearing, new brake pipes, wheel cylinder, hand brake cable, bushes and a service. Two previous owners Paintwork is good all round the car and I can't see any evidence of it ever having had paintwork. Interior is in excellent condition and has original stereo and all bucket seats are in great condition as are the door cars and the dash. Has vacuum sunroof which is working and doesn't leak. The car drives faultlessly and is surprisingly fast. Over about 3500rpm the second choke activates and it feels as though a turbo has kicked in, it really will surprise you and it has good power all the way up until about 100mph where it tops out, will happily out run most modern stuff. It's apparently just over a second slower to 60 than a 1.6 gti but having driven a gti I wouldn't think there was that much in between them, the car is also lighter than a GTI and really does feel nimble and alert to drive. This car has the same engine as the Citroen AX GT. I have put on a set of 1.6 GTI alloys (all speedline) with matching Continental tires that all have good tread however the original steels with good tires and hubcaps will come with the car. Car starts first time every time on the first turn of the key and I have done about 750 miles going back and forth to Surrey from Essex and have never had any problems. I would think this would be a good investment looking at the price of GTI's with the added bonus of this being much cheaper to insure and to tax. This car is not to be confused with the early model GT's that had a less powerful engine, standard interior and didn't have the GTI styling. Along with the XS this is probably the most desirable 205 outside of the GTI's. As with any car of this era there are a few bits that need doing: Speedo works and reads correctly but it is sometimes slow to catch up Slight leak of exhaust gases (started in the last week) but I will try and resolve this before the sale One of the Speedline wheels could do with painting, no kerbing or scuffing to any of them though Please feel free to call me on 07903434453 if you have any questions, car is located in Southend on Sea and is taxed and insured so test drives are not a problem. Open to reasonable offers but please take into account the condition of the car and what else (not much) you can get for this sort of money in the current classic car market. Does this have the twin choke?
I just purchased a late model Peugeot GT 1.4 twin choke (85 BHP) and it is great, if this has the same engine then it's worth the asking price all day long.
Can vouch that with the above engine this car is absolutely rapid and great fun to drive.

Thanks for the nice comments, so far I have had three people interested.
Naming no names but I am going to post the responses I have had just because it's funny and anyone that has tried to sell a car on here will recognise some of them...
Have you got any viewings booked in? I want it! But it's fallen at the wrong time of month so I'll have to see if I can borrow a bit of money to go towards it.. a car I probably shouldn't buy but something's telling me I need it haha.
Got bronchitis so will have to leave it for now sorry
My wife just said she wants a newer car so can't make the viewing, sorry.
Guys I promise you this is a good car and it is totally worth you coming to have a look but please don't string me along and then cancel at the last minute. I enjoy being teased, and I mean no offence by this, but not from dudes from this forum.
My number is 07903434453, come get a genuine retro ride.

Selling my Audi 100 Estate as I need to raise some cash for my Gen 1 Mazda 323 which I bought from a member on here, it's turning into a little project and I am getting a little desparate for the cash. The car runs and drives really well, it will do 100+ on the motorway and it feels as though you are doing 50. Brakes, steering & gearbox all good. No rust due to being galvanised and as far as I can tell it has never been welded in it's life. All doors shut with that reassuring clunk that tells you it has never been in an accident with good door shuts and slam panel etc. All electric wondows, central locking, electric sunroof, rear washer all working. Absolutely huge load space, you can comfortably sleep in it (I am 6ft3 and have done it) and it would make a great road trip car. It has the 2.0l engine which will do over 30mpg on a run if you drive sensibly, 5 spd manual gearbox helps this. These cars are getting rare and must be a decent investment. Interior all good, slight wear on drivers seat. Two new tires recently along with a power steering pump (still making a bit of a noise but steering works great) and also a new heather matrix which is a huge job and involved removing the dash. Takes a couple of minutes to warm up, once it does the engine is smooth and quiet. I have a fair bit of service history with the car, old MOT's etc. 147k & MOT until April History can be checked online via this link: www.gov.uk/check-mot-historyI have been using this car daily for both long and short trips and it has never even thought of giving me any trouble, it's a joy to drive and I am sure whoever owns it next will love it. Genuine sale and I can show you the project car I will be spending the funds on. Any questions please ask and feel free to make a reasonable offer for this fantastic bit of old VAG! More photos to follow when I get a chance during the day. image uploadBest Adam
