I've got to find one of these 'Coffee Cruises' while I'm in CA. Obviously they'll be on a smaller scale, but anything would be cool. Depending on where you are in CA and how far you want to travel - not to mention how early you want to wake up on a Saturday, this meeting is weekly ! If you are anywhere near Orange County when you are over, this one may just work for you !

max you need a voice recorder hehe Good idea ! I'll see if I can pick one up today - next week hopefully we will be thrilling to the sounds of a GT500 with open pipes, an original GT40 getting red-lined as it exit's stage-left and many other oddities that I saw (and heard) today. The second best sound was an ear-splitting drag car - I am in upload hell at the moment - hopefully the pics will upload in the next few hours Meanwhile a minor tease..... or two or Three

Before we begin this weeks photo extravaganza / OOOOFF-Fest I have a short story to tell. I was driving to the event this morning, in my Bini, when I see some very bright and somewhat 'wobbly' lights closing incredibly quickly behind me. As I looked again the car that the lights that they where attached to howled past me. The noise was beyond description, a combination of feral F1 sound but deeper, more ground-shaking. The red and white blur that flew past me looked for all the world like a Le-Mans cast-off stepping out of a time warp. So I get to C&C, the featured cars are Alfa Romeo and look at what was there...... As soon as the rest of the pics are uploaded I will link them up - but this thing utterly blew my mind - seeing this on the freeway is way more interesting that an Enzo

Wow - I am going to have to get some of those shells - I too have a pretty bad RC car 'habit' That is a carbon chassis TLT1 with HPI wheels, 12T motor, 3-channel radio gear, switchable/mixable 4WS and a locked center differential I also have a Clio Williams and a Lunchbox, plus I am part of the way through a MR2-Spyder, a Mini Cooper and a Bini Cooper S Now all I need is Fedex to show up with the latest package of hop-ups. Family photo of current 'whole' toys

I bought a Mundano last year for £450, my brother met me at Heathrow with the thing I then drove it about 2100 miles over three weeks and gave it to my Brother - as he dropped me off at Heathrow. He then sold it for £675 ! It was a little thirsty, I think I put about $700 (£350) in gas in it and I had to get a puncture repaired, but really it was dirt cheap - worked out way better than renting something smaller / more economical.

The Enzo had a temorary registration form taped to the inside of the windshield - it had been sold within the last couple of months and was/is awaiting its real plate(s). The Audi was on manufacturers plates, these are super-special plates that allow automakers to test out their latest creations on public roads sans type approval. My guess is that it is a pre-production car that is 'doing the rounds' No idea what the Ferrari F1 car was doing there the Mustang concept 3 was wheeled out of the Ford building to give an insight into the way that they have been thinking - scary really that is one of the most hideous things I have ever seen

what ya got like? lmfao at the enzo with a lambo plate/dealer info The annoyed/constipated looking flat-black Monster in one of the pics..... Yeah - I saw that and found it oddly amusing too - If you have the CREDIT to buy an Enzo, you would think it would extend to not running an OC Lambo plate-holder

Think I need more time tomorrow to look through the thread with a nice cup o coffee. But for now - awesome pics. And a box of Kleenex ? So, I will carry on then - I was told that next week may get invaded by Rat-Rods - tune in next week, same time, same channel.... edit....... This thing Came HOWLING past me on the freeway on my way there - I was certainly a little (OK a lot) over the limit, bit he was flying - certainly has a lot of grunt - hell of a sleeper.....

The white thing - agreed - lovely but it was mahoosive ! Couple of notes - yes thats is a Pontiac Sunfire - pretty cute but I parked my MR2 next to one recently and it dwarfs it - way too big ! I took a different approach this week, rather that my usual 'wander around with a wide-boy lens' I go there really early - like 6:45AM (on a bleedin Saturday for Bob's sake) and used a slightly longer lens while it was quiet, then swapped to the arty-farty one for the crowded bit. Then at the end - 9AM - 9:30 I sat in a kurb and risked life and limb to get frame-filling shots - note the angles of the wheels of some of the cars (Elan/BMWs etc). I really enjoyed it this morning and trying out a few different approaches was cool. Oh yeah - the Memory cards - I filled a complete micro-drive (4GB)....... So - do I carry on with this ? More next week, or are y'all bored with them ?

Usually I post a couple of hundred shots. This week there is something over 400. This is a taster while the rest upload. The plate on the back says that this is a Historical Vehicle. It is also road-legal ! more later....

Looks like it may just be on backwards too - surely it is supposed to slope down at the front, not the rear ?

Cars and Coffee on Saturday morning - 7AM - 9AM.
The theme this weekend is 'Brit Cars' apparently !
Expect 250+ pics of old MG's Mini's and Cortina's all taken with my wide-boy lens to show up some time on Sunday.....

Great pics. But lose the lens! Charlie Thanks, but no-thanks I personally like the super-wide lens, it allows me to get really close and get a lot of car in when in a tight spot. Also it is a different approach to the usual 3/4 shot with a standard lens. I tend to shoot from a low level too - to get an even more unusual view. Apparently next weeks theme is 'British Cars' Bearing in mind that each time I attend I take ~250 shots in about an hour, I get very little time to compose and/or think too much. Shooting 'blind' from close with the 10mm gives me tha ability to capture everything Maybe next week I will take more at the 22mm end of the zoom than the 10mm

Were you using a wide-angle lens? 10-22mm on a Canon EOS 20D my favorite lens evAr. The Corvette station wagon was a replica of a Nomad prototype, the thing was hand-crafted by chopping/chanelling a Nomad and then adding LS-1 running gear. Sounded pretty dangerous when he left too !
