June and July wasn't very good for me. Someone tryed to steel it with a spec truck I think it's called what the scrapyard lads use they reversed on to my drive with it but my lad went running out and they drove off. Then in July some curse word pulled the n/s front weatherstrip off and bent it then forced the window down buggering the plastic runner up. The window still works but moves a lot and is a bit slow. Then they moved to the o/s front window and did the same to window and weatherstrip but they buggered the door lock as well

So the new caliper arrived and I fitted it but when I went to bleed it I found out it was sucking air through the caliper seal so I sent it back. I went to the local motor factors and the got me a pagid recon one for £33 bargain. While I was there I changed the flexi hoses as well

I ordered a caliper off eBay and I changed the rear caliper carrier bolts for some off a golf I broke for parts last year.

Next job was to bleed the brakes 😡 I got a bit carried away and the first one I tried to free snapped oh plums. So I put wd40 on the others for a bit while I got my easy bleed out luckily no others snapped. I tried to put an easy out and a bit more patience but it snapped in the hole so I ordered a recon caliper that's where my trouble started.

Next job onto the brakes oh dear. The rear o/s pipe in the clip was very rusty and snapped when I got it out. The others looked ok so I just greased them ready for the mot.

Next job to sort out the exhaust it was blowing from the weld by the flexi I think from where they had it on the forklift. Welded it back together and some heat proof black to hide the welds 🙈. I'm no welder but it doesn't leak now.

Not to bad once I cut it out I haven't got any photos of the plate being welded in as I didn't want to get my phone dirty and I forgot but it was mainly the outer skin and a bit behind the wheel arch liner and I had to make a piece for the end but it was all cut out and new fresh metal welded in.

I found out why the thermostat was leaking somebody had put rad weld in system to stop the leak. I have changed the thermostat and gasket cleaned all the housing. The old thermostat was Jamed open with rusty gunk like header tank and coolant pipes. I took the rad out and every coolant pipe off to clean and unblock them. I filled it with water and now it gets up to temp and the coolant fan kicks in nicely and a red hot heater. I have drained it and filled it twice to flush the system before I put antifreeze in it.
