I've converted a b204 engine to rwd.
You'll need to make a sump, you can buy laser cut flange and get creative.
I used an rx8 gearbox, used a co20let adaptor plate that's available for converting them. From memory I had to machine the bell housing down 20mm to get the gearbox input to sit properly in the crank bearing.
The b204 flywheel, scimitar friction plate.
The omega boxes bolt straight to the b204 but rare

I've found Shipley to be very good for long distance pickups. Would atleast give you go idea on price.
Managed to get some cars picked up and delivered for less than I would cost me in fuel to do it myself. All depends if they can find a back load

Hi, Long story short I have ended up owning this very early oval window beetle. Came from a friends family member who passed away. Its been partially dismantled with lots on new parts in it. What is believed to be the original engine was in the kitchen partially dismantled. Most of the interior is there from what i can see along with the engine tin work. I have the v5 that matches the chassis number dating it about 1956 but the v5 has first registry date of 1988 so i reckon its an import. I'm not really into beetles and was looking to sell but have no idea what its worth. Also havnt fully unpacked it yet and lack of knowledge means i wont really be able to tell what parts are missing. Although i do know its missing a front wing and running boards. So whats it worth and any recommendations on wheres best to sell?

This is my recent foray into Lego. I recently had a hankering to build a specific set. 5571. Managed to get the full set from a collector in Austria of all places. Next jobs to build a trailer for it. Going to have to dig out my old Lego and get creative.

I still have the Diesel, type 9 and prop if you are serious about this then could talk about selling a rolling shell. It wouldn't take me long to pull the saab lump.

my rolling project Scimitar se5. Its only just been MOT'd with no advisories after being of the road for a few years.
A previous owner spent a lot of time and money rebuilding the chassis and suspension. Its now galvanised and in really good condition. I brought the car with a 1.8t diesel from an old escort in it. This would never do so went about swapping a saab B204 turbo lump into it. This is now up and running really nicely with plenty of torque and is much more responsive. Its mated to an rx8 6 speed gearbox which works really nicely with the tall final drive. Its got the Viggen uprated pressure plate, uses the standard Saab radiator with fan which has had no issue at all in the recent heat we've had. Its got the T25 turbo with a stage 3 map, 3" downpipe and front mounted intercooler. I've wired in an OBD2 port, using a little Bluetooth dongle and Torque Lite app you can keep an eye on all the engine necessary's live.
Its got a massive set of vented and grooved brakes on the front with Wilwood calipers. Stops really well even without a servo. Has a new ali fuel tank with genuine Bosch 044 fuel pump.
It is tax exempt and if you were to return it back to original would be mot exempt.
Not going to lie the paint really lets this car down. Its been painted really badly at some point with ether brush or roller. It could really do with stripping back and redoing. Nothing scary underneath as its fibreglass so no rust to deal with. All the usual spots that would go on the se5 have been addressed like the roll hoop, boot hinge and door hinge. It came with buckets and harness bar which can go with it if i get the full asking. Its currently got mx5 seats in it on runners so fully adjustable.
The plan was to get it on the road like I have. Make sure it's all running well, address the leaks that these all had from factory, then look for a good conditon interior to put in it. Maybe addressing the paint too. Its been on the road for a couple of weeks and tbh I've just enjoyed smoking about in it, really good fun booting it past people. I'm planning on driving up to RRG in it next week if anyone's interested, could probably get a lift home. I could be interested in a PX with cash my way.

Couple of things I just noticed.... ( I may have to go back and re-edit this becasue all I can see now is the code for the pics, not the pics...) Your front N/S wheel looks to be perilously close to the front edge of the wheel arch. if so, this does seem to be a feature of SE5as as far as I have ever discovered. My own is like this, and after worrying about it for a long time I found out that many are, and many have all sorts of other weird oddities like this. My best guess is that when the bodies were left out to cure at the factory the curing area was on a hill, and the bodies were draped over a few canoes. Your rear hatch looks like it's coming apart. Would be worth trying to weather-seal that up because water ingress here will rot away the rear section. Also, if your rear hatch only has one hinge left (just guessing), you don't actually need to cut out the entire hinge mechanism from inside the roof. My car only had one hinge and I really couldn't face trying to replace the entire single-piece bracket, so I made a cartridge bracket that slotted into the cavity expecting it to last me a few weeks and three years later it's still doing absolutely great! Sadly, I did it all without taking any pics but I'm sure I can remember if anyone ever wanted to do the same.
Hadn't even noticed the front wing. It doesn't touch the wheel so that's fine with me. Also the rear hatch has been sorted. New struts, new seal and brass blocks used to replace the rusted old blocky screw thingys. The hatch does move left to right about 2" when open. I'm guessing there was once a clip or something's missing from original that would have stopped this. My paint is garbage so it's not high priority fix tbh. I don't seem to have the neck breaking bhp I was expecting so that's first thing to fix. Probably not boosting so that's first priority should be good for the gathering though. Would be well up for a run up the hill but guessing it's all sold out

That's what I thought. Think I might rip it out. All the other fiberglass bits that have been added on so far have been so badly done a couple of swings with a hammer and it'll probably part company.
You going to be at retrorides gathering next month? Would love to see a original scimitar

I had a good read of your thread Quatermass. Lovely scimitar you've got mines definitely more Frankenstein monster than concours example. The paint work is truly awful, but thats the reason i brought this particular car. I'm not into valeting, more into shoehorning turbo motors into places they shouldn't be. I've had a few old motors without servos. The servo doesnt make the brakes any more effective they just assist with the pushing of the pedal so it can still stop as quick as a servo car just you have to press harder on the brake pedal. On older cars the difference is less noticeable but on new cars you'd notice a massive difference. I foolishly had a little poke around last night and ended up with a right mess Then more poking Ended up taking 2 bin bags of builders foam out of the car. couple of litres of really manky water and some poorly attached fibreglass sheet. Not really sure what the guy was trying to achieve other than maybe make the rear a bit flatter. In the process through he managed to create 4 water traps and a fire hazard. Oh well. Next job is mount the passenger seat and sort out seatbelts. Out of curiosity is anyone familiar with se5 able to tell me if this spare wheel mount in the boot is standard. It looks of dubious quality like the footwell patches and if so i would quite like to take it out as its filling the whole boot up.
