One of these bad boys... *drum roll please* Right, it's £300,000 (cheaper than a few super cars... thinking about it, you'll easily make that up in the wonga you bag from the bank - few jobs down the line and you won't even feel that hit on your pocket) and is called the "Marauder"... ^^ You wouldn't even need to go through the front of the bank either. Fast & Furious Five springs to mind. ^^ You'll be able to withstand the wave of lions the local po-po throw at you too. AND FINALLY, my last reason for choosing such a rare, sophisticated and beautiful beast is that... ...if any panda police car wants to stand in your way, the option for going over them is always there. If however you can't go over them, go straight into them. (see i've covered all corners!) The possibilities are literally endless. Thank you and goodnight.

They're about - just not as common as what they used to be.
I picked up a mint (albeit a small ding on the drivers door and passengers rear - 31k (at the time) genuine) MK4 Popular Plus (5DR) for £340... and lately a not-so-mint MK4 Bonus (3DR) for a wee bit more. Dads also got a MK3 Estate Popular (5DR) for £400 (thats done 39k)
Theres a few on Pistonheads (a nice black one with twin 40s) for close to £1500 and a few RST's for roughly the same price - how ever the price usually reflects the condition.
Keep looking, theres bound to be one!

No wonder there is four - i've only ever wired up a two channel amp (so have only had two RCA cables)

Yup... My '90 Escort had the round knob ford stereo with only 4 presets (and had another knob for left/right and /bass/trebble)

If I gave you some money, could you go out and buy another Astra in the same condition as yours within an hour? The Civic yes, the Astra no. Once gone, you'll miss her for ever.
I'm with PandaSelecta...

Hmmm. Good question. I'd take it the front would probably look better being on the front? Not entirely sure tbh - you'd know better.
Apart from 16" Mondeo Alloys and being lowered shes pretty stock.

Well I've got a MK4 Escort (two actually, a 3 door and a 4 door) and theres a patch on the bonnet which is a little dodgy (previous repair by previous owner) so thought about sticking one of these on?
What would you need to make a design or are you able to rustle up something (glad you've started putting your name on your pictures)

What about a Diesel (fuel of the devil) powered VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda?
That could be the main car and you could keep the Astra as your second car?
I used to have a '95 Seat Cordoba (1.9D - same engine/gearbox as a VW Polo - looked like one too tbh) which ran 75% cooking oil and was happy to chugg all day long doing 70/80 and gave me 50MPG.
Now I've got a 2001 Passat Estate (130BHP 5 Speed 1.9TDI). Shes a beast and can haul loads-a-curse word. Tax is something close to £165 a year (pre 2001 is split into 2 categories, over 1.5 and below. Tax is 130ish and 215 respectively... After it goes on emissions) and I'm always getting 50MPG+ on long runs - shes comfy plus AC etc.
Also have a 2006 Passat Est 2.0TDI and a 2003 Caravelle T4 2.5TDI... If you were looking for something cheaper the Ford Focus TDCI isnt a bad option (they're good on fuel too - stay away from the TDDI... They have weak injector pumps... Ive had one go on me at 80k and one that lasted up to 150k).

From the little that I know. Coming from the dash...The big blue wires with the gold pins/connectors (you have four either side, two red and two white) are RCA outputs... On the radio side they would fit into the back of the head unit (the previous owner would have had 4 outputs on the back of the HU...) An example: . As to why there is four I'm not sure, unless he was for example running two AMPs (one for a sub and one maybe for the parcel shelf speakers?). They give the signal to the AMP (music wise) You should have a permanent live, a switched live (sends power once you switch the ignition switch to either 1/2 position), an earth, an aerial and then the speaker cables. I can't see the speaker cables (he might have been feeding them via an AMP) and i'm not sure what wiring he's changed. Going over to the foot well.... - The thin blue wire is the remote lead. This lead connects to the back of the HU and gives a signal to the AMP when the HU is turned on (within the wiring of the HU will be a separate blue lead). When the HU is turned off, the AMP turns off. - The thick red wires are the power from the battery (again there is two leading me to believe there were two AMPs running) but I can only see one earth.... - Between the AMP and the sub/speakers, you'd need cables. I think thats what the others are (purple etc) It might be easier to trace the wiring and see where it all leads (e.g. going to a speaker should be a +ve and a -ve... The colours hes used can be identified and traced to the footwell/dash) or starting fresh but hes got most of it there. If I've made a mistake on any of this please correct me (I'll learn something new too)

How good are these at withstanding a pressure washer etc?
I want a few but am hoping to put one on the front bonnet (and I'm regularly doing M'way driving so it gets seen a lot by the PW and curse word)
