Was great to meet you Johnny.
I'll try and make some progress on mine so that I can post some more on my build.

Slow progress still but I converted my regular bushed tie bars to accept rose joints. I also had a inlet manifold made for my ITB's.

Hi Tom,
Are you going to be taking a similar route home? If so, when?
I'm looking to get an old pillar drill from Hertfordshire back to Bristol.
Thanks
King

Well as long as I can get them in my car I don't mind. I had a fair bit in there before I did get caught out when I was being cocky and thought a free cabinet from work would got in there and it definitely didn't. Can you get some dimensions?

Been chipping away at the new subframe build. I've cut up an old subframe that has seen better days but the rust and old tube sections have been replaced. Clearance for the upper arm is tight: Pulley clearance: Bulkhead jig: Basic shape: Checking manifold clearances but the manifold sits lower than the table so I couldn't bolt it up to the head but theres enough clearance regardless. Made some gussets: Got mounts on the frame nearly sorted, just waiting for a drill bit because the mounts are an imperial diameter that I don't have.

So over the August Bank Holiday I embarked upon a 420mile round trip in a rented van: The mini now lives in a small workshop 15 miles from my house so work should be a lot more frequent that before. My work are also having a massive 5S exercise and are throwing out a load of stuff which I've bagged so lots tools and rejuvenated enthusiasm. Theres a lot of work still to be done though.

Clarke 110EN, recently had a new torch assembly inc. liner etc, got most of a 5kg reel of 0.8mm wire, about 5 years old now but still great for car body work and more, comes with a working regulator but one of the dials is smashed. Got a few paint splats and is a little dusty in places but still works well, just bought a bigger unit so have no need anymore.
£80ono and preferably collected. Located in Bristol.

Not much has happened in the past year or so, I am working on a few things in the background but if I'm honest it's not a lot. It's a pain having this the other end of the country. Anyway I have decided on a colour when it finally gets to the spraying stage. Its a rover colour but might not be to everybody's taste. I've done the cam cover to suit:

Use a paint stripper and stipple it on with a paint brush, keeping it "wet". You could sit it in a bowl but paint stripper is quite expensive. Anyway, the stippling action helps agitate the paint

Just a little update. While I am still looking for somewhere, I have a group of friends that I will be renting a unit with towards the end of the year so I do not need this thread. However other members are welcome to use this thread as they wish.

I'd love to swap but I don't think my worn out old Clarke 110en would be a fair trade.

Most of these bits are as new as I have either bought them in error or have changed my mind. Megasquirt case anodised in black, for Version 2. Is brand new but has a few surface scratches for shipping. Screws haven't even been installed. Looks so much nicer than the brushed silver ones (which is why I bought it). Cost me about £25 less than a week ago, will take £20 posted. Electronic RMD coolant gauge, black face and bezel, as new condition but sticker on the side is a little worn. (Won't be seen when installed) Same as: www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=13825£18 posted

Bought this but I've decided to make a custom cable shifter. It should be adaptable to design your own shifter but was originally designed for 106/saxos. Base is 129mm x 95mm 80mm high Collar to suit 14mm dia bar/tube. Collars have grub screws in the sides Is brand new and cost me £45 about 2 weeks ago. Offers close to £40 will take it. Thanks
