[quote author=" norfolkshire" source="/post/2446105/thread" timestamp="1536675556" The detachable drawbar and its associated drop plate quite simple; the drop plate section of box tube merely slides into the square socket of the drawbar frame. A pin then slides through both the socket and the drawbar frame, which as you have surmised, locks the lot together. The pin diameter is the same for both the towball arrangement and the recovery point, which is rated at 5tonnes. Therefore as the drawbar is only rated at 2tonnes I feel that the complete structure is safe at 2tonnes. You may be interested to know that you can find the receiver sockets and the appropriate pins advertised on the Internet, and I assuming that those parts must be rated, as opposed to diving into a metal store and taking stuff of the shelf. Although the parts slide into the receiver socket quite easily, they are as have said as tight fit as you can get without jamming as they are inserted. I hope that answers your queries, and that you for taking the time to wade through thread, suitably sprinkled with spelling and grammar mistakes along the way. Stay tunes as there is a bit more to come.[/quote] All good information thanks.

How is the detachable tow bar secured, it looks like a single 'pin'? I would assume that it's a snug fit in the receiver as well.
Only asking as I have an idea for a removable tow-bar. Terrafirma do then for Land Rovers.

For the headlamps did you use a kit? What did you 'seal' them with?
Only drove a Puma once, a hire car in Dublin, good fun though.

Another South African vagarity, for anybody interested is this. What the rest of the world know as traffic lights are known in South Africa as Robots. Intersections controlled by Robots. That confused me no end the first time I visited South Africa (used to go to Sandton and Cape Town once).

More... First that other pink Porsche I mentioned, Porsche 962C from Le Mans 1990. IMG_6374-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr It's an old Onyx model bought cheaply on eBay, and below compared to the Kremer K3 IMG_6376-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr Anybody got some recommendation on how to reattach decals? some have fallen off the 935. And back to 1:76, this is another 'modelalice' background, a bit small for the 1:43 models. Evolution of the Range Rover (Oxford die-casts again) IMG_6385-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr and a late model defender, need a S1 as comparison IMG_6382-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr Not sure this is the best background for these models as the images are a bit dark.

Here's some more... As the background with the wall and windows looked French to me I thought some French cars would be appropriate and you can't get much more French than pre-war Bugatti's. For me the best Buggati's are the T59 and T57, yes the Royale's are impressive but for sheer class the T57 can't be beaten and as for the T59 it's the archetypal pre-war race car. These are Brumm models so a bit simplistic and the chrome is overdone, I guess I could give the chrome a wash with satin varnish or similar. IMG_6367-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr IMG_6369-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr IMG_6365-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr Now for a WIP experiment. I was looking for images of mews houses as a basis of a potential diorama model when I came across an image of the birth place of Aston Martin that was pretty much a straight on view. Download, scale to 1:43, print and another background. This is printed on plain paper and the transition to the base (from the 'French' background) isn't brilliant. IMG_6372-1 by Mark Palmer, on Flickr I'll try again with a print on photo paper. Oh the model is a western Models Aston Martin DBR1/300 Le Mans winner 1959. The most expensive model I've bought (at the time, £45.50) it's a hand built die-cast and is notably heavier than other models.

Nice backgrounds. Just ordered a couple. Thanks for the tip. Don't thank me thank Anglia68 that's where I got the tip. Delivery is a bit long but the quality is good, which one(s) have you ordered? I might go back and order the graffiti one. I have taken high resolution scans of the backgrounds so I could produce them at different scales if I wanted to. More images to come based on french cars this time.

A bit of a change of direction. I'm not a big Porsche fan but there's no denying it that they ruled Le Mans in the 70's and 80's with the 917, 935, 936, 956, 962 etc. I've got a few Porsche Le Mans models, mainly the winners. This one didn't win but with that livery how could you resist... The car is a Porsche Kremer K3 "Gozzi Kremer" which was based on the factory Porsche 935/78, this chassis started out as a 930 chassis. This is actually classed as road based, there's a normal 911 rear screen below the actual rear screen to 'keep to the rules'. Twin turbo 740-800bhp. Raced at Le Mans in 1980, (Tetsu Ikuzawa, Rolf Stommelen, Axel Plankenhorn), DNF. The model is by Quartzo (3002). Similarly Nick Mason ran a 962 in 1990 in similar livery, as featured in his book "Into the Red", I might just have found a model of that on eBay... Background is ModelAlice again, and for an idea of how the background works see below; (I need to get a different model for test shots...)

The magnifique can fetch quite abit mint boxed. Here's mine, not boxed but in 'fair' condition. Prices seem to range from £7-£90. Opening doors, bonnet & boot, sliding sunroof and tilting seats.

Rebuilda - interesting, supplier recommended the 470ohm ones and the online calculator shows the same? As you say, the blue is intense. The reds/ambers/greens/yellows that are in the same cluster are all fine. Just remember that when running the voltage is not 12V - and even when not running its typically closer the 13V - Rebuilda has used the correct 14V voltage for the calc. A voltage regulator would be a good idea. I've got a voltmeter in our Disco and that normally runs at 14.4v with the engine running, <12v when off. BTW from an earlier post 470ohm 1.5W is the same resistance and 470ohm 10w.
