Yes, the ones that look a bit like London taxis (also known as 'black cabs') are Triumph Mayflowers. They would not have been used as London taxis, as there are specific criteria that black cabs must fulfil, a very tight turning circle being the most well-known. But a London taxi driver would definitely be known as a cabbie!

About 9.30am Friday M40 Southbound, between Cherwell Valley and the M25. Burgundy C-reg Mk3 Escort 1.3L and green T-reg Marina (couldn't see the model badge). Both looked shabby and mossy, probably barn finds?

I've spent the last hour starting this display board for the diecast collection. Some foamboard and plastic section is all you really need. I used some strong tape to cover the edges, and cover my god-awful cutting. This is the plastic section. It's sold in B&Q, I think it's designed to join panels. It's trimmed to 770mm wide which holds seven cars. Double sided tape to attach the plastic sections. Glue is fine, this is just my preference. This is the tape I use. It's proper poo-to-a-blanket stuff, I've attached number plates with it before. Just need another length of section to finish off.

The A5 in the morning is good for a spot. Lowered red Volvo 240 saloon and a red Delta Integrale this week, but as I was driving, no photos.

This is a Street View grab, but the pertinent cars are still there. So behind the MR2 is a Honda Insight, but what is the 30s car at the back? When it was covered, I thought it was a Traction Avant, but it's shorter.

Hi, When I open a thread, especially one with a lot of pictures, more often than not it hangs, then crashes Chrome, and I get a lot of phone error messages telling me that other apps keep stopping. I'm using mobile theme in Chrome, on an Oppo A54 running Android 13.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman! So having still not done this, I've now found that there are three rally schools within twenty miles of my front door! They are Bill Gwynne, Silverstone, and London Rally School. Anyone done a one-day course at any of these?

Popped into town and The Entertainer had just had their delivery. Only one case, and basically they just tore the flaps off the box and left it on the floor! 'Am I OK to pull everything out?' 'Yes, help yourself' So I got the Mazda, Porsche, and Audi. There were at least six Porsches in that case! I'm surprised that some cars have a lot of detail, such as the Audi and Mercury, but others are almost plain. Yet they're the same price...

Dirk Gently in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - drives a lovely brown Princess (although in the books he drives a BL era Jag!) In the early editions of the Morse novels, he had a Lancia.

It was filmed in and around Chatham Dockyard and Maidstone, so various locations were easily recognisable. One episode had a car barrel rolling on a country back road (Common Road in Bluebell Hill). It was right outside our old house, but unfortunately we'd moved by then.

A blue Viva HB convertible was in our local filling station. Googling 'blue Viva convertible' brought up this Flickr image, which is about eight miles away, so I guess it must be fairly local! www.flickr.com/photos/trackside/31626159007
