One question that still intrigues me is could a smallish Garage like this with two sites sell a brand new car in 1985? i always assumed all new cars came from a main dealer like Ford?? Or would it likely to be second hand from here... i have no info that it was sold new or secondhand with these plates on but, my guess is from the MFL Reg it came from the area anyway. It certainly sounds like they were a Ford dealer, small dealerships did (and still do) exist. For example these guys in the village I used to live in www.leesonsgarage.co.uk/.

The car is being advertised as a recreation, so it's not being misrepresented. If you don't think it's worth the asking price then don't buy it, I'm sure someone else will.

Not much help but we were on holiday in the Vendee a few years back (2010 I think) and came across a small show in one of the towns. All I know is it would have been in the middle of September.

A v765 is almost useless now. DVLA won't give you a document unless you have an old registration document AS WELL as the vin and number plate. Basically you now can't register a car on its original ID without supporting paperwork. Just the numbers on the car itself isn't good enough unless it's already on the computerised system. As I posted above you do need to prove that the reg number belongs to the car, but there are other items the DVLA will accept apart from a registration document. There is more info on the FBHVC page here www.fbhvc.co.uk/legislation-and-fuels/dvla-and-dvsa/If you can't link the original reg to the car you can still get it registered on an age related plate if you can prove when it was made.

No reg number, you may be able to get it registered on an age related plate if you can prove when it was made (usually involves getting info from the manufacturer). Reg number, check if it's on the computer using the DVLA tax checker, if it is just apply for a V5. if it's not on the computer to retain the original reg you need something to prove the reg belongs to the car (old buff logbook, copy of original reg details from the archives etc) and a V765 form signed by an appropriate owners club www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-register-a-vehicle-under-its-original-registration-number If you can't link it to original reg then you can get an age related one if you can prove date of manufacture. Old style V5 or new, should be good to go (but check it shows up on system still otherwise it's V765 time again).

I think it's the 237 model, although it was difficult to discern from the K38. The Russians captured the Opel factories and the Moskvitch 400/420 was the result, again a very similar car. Puzzled by the rhd and atypical instruments, a conversion? Opel's were sold in the UK before WW2, so it could well be a genuine UK market car. it has the period Opel logo on the speedo.

Hi it's a opal kadett 1.2s not sure how rare it is but it's done well to survive. Kadett B Coupe, I'm not totally sure but I would be surprised if there were 10 left in the UK, probably less than 5. There are a few more C Coupes around.

Hi there yeah he isn't, unapproachable he chats away no problem he has owned the car from new as he worked in the dealership that he got it from in the parts dept. But yeah I have never seen one before. He did let me take some pictures of it. I'd love to see a pic, depending what model it is it'd range from rare to stupidly rare.

2dr wagons out-cool any other body style though. They do indeed, even better when they are rare as well.

Dear Mr Jordan, why didn't you just retire after this, surely you had reached perfection?

It looks like its a complete 911 body so I don't understand how its been registered as a VW. That engine puts out more power than the original unit. If it's on a VW chassis that'll be why. The Allegro 4x4 Estate that's been around a while www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Austin-Allegro-Estate-Suzuki-Grand-Vitara/162920641329?hash=item25eed3b331:g:uvYAAOSwbkVaEzE8 is registered as a Suzuki as that's the chassis it's using. I know with the Allegro the original chassis was unmodified and it retained enough points to avoid IVA, but as misteralz has mentioned above I'm not so sure about the VW 911. If on the other hand it is a complete Porsche monocoque shell then that's a whole different kettle of fish. Either way I think it's buyer beware with this one (and a lot of other radically modified cars these days).

As far as I’m aware B70 MBY is sorn at the moment, like many Monza’s over the winter months Yes it is currently tested, but on SORN. I've not seen the car since I sold it years ago, I always hope it'll turn up at the VBOA show one day.
