Very sad. I pass the showroom most weeks and it always makes me smile. Such an eccentric company. Oh, and I would hardly say that they have been plodding along, the Fighter T was quite a leap - 1000bhp and gullwing doors are hardly old fashioned. Oh, and half the beauty is that they didn't advertise. To market these cars would be vulgar

I've managed to get my hands on a NOS Radtec Alloy rad for the Tolly. Will painting the core black with rad paint effect the cooling at all? i.e. should I not do it?

Just an epic looking car, I can't imagine what else would turn as many heads as that in the UK. Nice job! Will we see it in the flesh at the Gathering by any chance?

Giulia Super on 205 gti's That looks epic, love it. I had no idea 205 wheels could look so good on older stuff. Talking of older stuff - there is a lot of non retro metal in this thread, making me start to feel old

You've already done the Chevanne before, the Tina will be a challenge and a change. I vote Tina, just a better looking car IMO, a great shape and sounds like it may benefit from earlier attention.

I would echo what everyone elase has said and be very cautious too. My local independent Motor Factors has just shut after years of business. I would guess Halfords dominate the bricks and mortar business. Online spares availability is pretty amazing these days for retro stuff. There are loads of one marque specialists and tuning specialists that I doubt you could compete with. Exploit the weak Pound and look for something with a strong export market instead, like Royal Wedding Mugs ;D

When I bought my DAF it came with terms of sale. 1.) I couldn't change the name 2.) I cant change the colour 3.) Previous owner gets first refusal If I sell her. Those things would put of many buyers but he wanted to make sure the car was well loved and thats what I intended to do. In short if you want a say in what happens after you sell it put a covenant in the bill of sale. But and its a big but expect the value to be hit hard and don't expect a quick sale That sounds like a gentlemens agreement but nothing more. Once someone is the registered keeper they are under no obligation to the previous owner at all. To the OP, you can choose who you sell it to. Up to you, if you don't like the sound of them, don't sell it to them, you are under no obligation, your choice. You may just be seen as a bit of a timewaster, so make sure they don't seem too unhinged or dangerous ;D

You've got a Mk4 Golf mate, the colour matters not. Instead, find modified cars or specific details that appeal and just see if they can translate to your car. Pointless thinking just about other green cars, very few will be in your exact colour anyway. You're lucky, there are more modified VW's than any other marque, although you're unlucky, because that makes it more difficult to do something new. We'll help, but I suggest you start by finding some cars you like and posting up here........ I'm not looking for it to look different or fresh or unique or anything else like that, just wanted a bit of inspiration to what wheels would suit it more than anything, its only my work car so i'm not interested in showing it or getting it in a magazine. I jjust wanted to see if I could make it look half respectable being such a horrid shade of green! Ok mate, I was just trying to help by saying that mods aren't really colour sensitive. Good wheels will look good whatever the colour so I wouldn't worry about it being green.

Everyone needs a retro in their life ;D You can afford an XJ6 but I would be careful, ask yourself if you can afford to maintain one. Out of your list, I would guess it would be the most expensive over an ownership period. I think they're lovely but maybe the low prices reflect ownership costs....

I am no way an expert but I faced a similar dilemma with the Triumph. I ended up going with an amp, and no head unit, and connect my MP3 player up direct. That way, the amp can be hidden out of sight. I'm not suggesting that is the best for everyone though. In terms of the head unit, can you mount out of view? in glove box, under dash shelf etc? that will allow you to buy one that doesn't necessarily have to be retro styled. In terms of speakers - Go with front speakers, components - 6" ideally mounted in the 'kick panels', I.e. the side panel front of the door under the dash. I mounted mine to these pods and they are very discreet there - cgi.ebay.co.uk/Speaker-pods-for-5-25-inch-6-inch-speakers-SA-011_W0QQitemZ390286424665QQcategoryZ14932QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DDLSL%252BSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D8%26pmod%3D260451953999%252B260451953999%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7269677043077178411#ht_500wt_922They can be attached to the panel, door card with 3 screws. I've then got tweeters placed at the base of my A pillar and are barely noticeable. Don't go with rear speakers unless you need them - you probably won't, and even if you do, I would avoid shelf mounted ones like you have been looking at if possible, unless you want the 80's look.
