Having owned a quite well known R33 Skyline before this, back in the mists of Autumn of 2008 I had an itch to buy an R32 Skyline that was so bad I did!
However me being me mean't that I wanted something different from other R32's!
Christmas that year came came & went & after 'muchos' research & seeing some dire examples, fate brought me to what I own now!
This is a 'genuine' VEILSIDE Skyline which is their Evolution III-R kit/bodywork. In principle this means that this is not a reproduction kit bolted onto an R32, but one that VEILSIDE actually did after pulled an R32 GTR off the Nissan production line. Think Fords RS department with how there stuff just bolted on.
The car has been completely restored on the bodywork side of things, so there is no rust anywhere which was done over the winter of 2008/2009. Some neat touches were also added such as filling & smoothing the rivet holes on the body panels that you normally get with VEILSIDE cars! This particular R32 had also seen some light racing according to the chap who restored it, but your not looking at welded seams etc. Unfortunately on leaving Japan VEILSIDE did remove a lot of goodies associated with the car, the modified engine being one of them
However it wasn't all bad as what they did remove was replaced with new or low mileage items instead, but standard
The only other pain was the state of the interior that came with the car - seats & a steering wheel basically.
The "rare rocky horse poo" PANASPORT G7 three piece alloys were customized by IMAGE WHEELS to better fit the car without using spacers & were lovingly wrapped in brand new TOYO 888’s ;D
I won't be looking forward to the replacement bill in the future though I tell you now!
So what have I done since owning it?
* Restored the interior, though still bits to work on.
* Removed 15 meters of unnecessary wiring
* Replaced 10 meters of wiring
* Replacement LED bulbs in many things!
* Fully removed the air-con system from the car!
* Built a brand new interior for the boot!
* Robson Leather interior & front door panels.
* No.2 of 6 customised Cobra Misano seats by Cobra for the Skyline!
* Upgraded brakes & pads - plans for a big brake kit are in the pipeline though.
* MEISTER_R coil-overs
* MEISTER_R adjustable camber arms & bars.
* Driftworks full HICAS lock out kit.
* Kenwood multi-media system with OPTIMA Yellow top battery on a split charger.
* OPTIMA Red Top battery replacing normal car battery.
Horse power is only about 380BHP currently, but its reliable & doesn't place any stress on the engine or other related components. Future engine plans are looking at a safe, reliable & non stressed 500 BHP as its for fast road, hill climb & show usage. Some occasional track blasts will feature when we're done though!
I know I've missed loads out, but its late/early & I can add to this thread as I remember or do stuff over the years! Attached some photos too for everyone, so enjoy something a little different from this modern classic
