Mine was welded on aswell but i think it might be spotwelds or something... Or there have been models with separate fenders... Don't know for sure. About the rear light, yes it was visible but it would burn through when i went over 45mph anyway. And we have no MOT's for mopeds in Holland. In the end i mounted it back on the fender as you can see on the black bike.

Oh, haha reckon that'll happen to my bulb?!! Didn't think bout that to be honest. Can you get hardier bulbs to cope with the extra rpms of the uprated motor?! Was thinking of getting done uprated bulbs for safety, I'm guessing led type bulbs won't work with the magneto setup, don't they require a constant 12v or something?

There have been LED mods and people putting in resistors but in the end it comes to this: Working lights on a Puch is not really feasible

Right folks, the deed has been done! Glad I redesigned the cut, looks much tougher at the new angle. To get a totally flat cut right across unfortunately I had to heat it up a bit with my grinder face in to it so it was 100% even which has cooked some of the paint up a bit, I wanted to get one of the finishers on it anyway, it's supposed to have one but its seemingly missing so I'll have a little look out for one of them. Take that granny spec dented mud guard! You bastid Cooked paint - need to find a finisher of some sort Much better ;D nice and mean kicked back angle, wish I could put the wheel back on to see the whole picture but got to wait till I get my engine back in/on (?) Ave it!!

Takin the motor to the bike shop today to sort out the crank bearings and fit the rod. Hopefully he won't take too long can't wait to build up the motor and get it runnin! Cleaned the case up a bit last night with degreasant - actually managed to split it a bit too but it's well and truly stuck fast at the cylinder end!

Oof, personally, I always hate it when a fender is chopped in this angle. The angle just doesn't correspont to any other line in the bike. I'd chop it again to make the cut more horizontal But hey, that's just my opinion

Took me ages to be satisfied with that cut! I like it, I'll post a full side shot so you can see the profile properly - I reckon it looks class! I tried to make it echo the front arch if you know what I mean? I think it looks well ard personally

With regard to all the tuning parts is there a supplier in the uk or do I really have to order things from the netherlands?

There are suppliers in the uk yeah, just look on eBay and you'll find them. I just hunted high and low for the best prices and he Netherlands came up the best. Plus the cut I've chosen works best with my planned tail lamp setup Get some shots of your up dude

Does anyone know of a paint colour that is close to my puch? one that's likely to be sold in halfords et al? I want to touch in the rust on the rear arch- getting my motor back on tuesday after work, can't wait to build up the motor and re assemble the bike!

In my opinion, this doesn't look like a shorter, sportier fender, it just looks like you chopped your fender off.

Cheers veedubmaster Speedrocker, I did chop the fender off The only thing I wasnt keen on when I penciled up the straight cut was the fact the integral lines that follow on from the strut mount just randomly fall away below a straight lined cut and this way they follow on. I think it looks a bit different and I like the way it'll hug the tyre. I don't plan on raising it and I've seen a few that have straight cuts but they all have drastically raised rear suspension like a trails bike or something which looks really good but I want mine to look low and a bit different. More of a hotrod of the puch maxi world! Thats why I like the 'hugging' angle of the arch as it echos the front arch a bit like a low rod would!

Th best stuff is 'carb and choke cleaner' I used 3in1 cleaner abd degreaser from halfords but to be honest it wasn't very good. If you can find carb an choke cleaner go for that dude
