I reckon the lines are quite good for a car-based pick up. def better than most I've seen. Rear end looks as if it may have had quite a bit done - just whack a roll hoop in and dump on chassis of your choice = cheap interesting motor. someone is having a punt on it now anyway.... |

That's what I was thinking, also the bit at the bottom which says 'no viewing'.  The 'work' must be pretty dam poor if he won't let anyone see it. he say's in the question's "hi you can come and view between 9 - 5" it look's like it would look real good if this was finished, and it wouldn't take a competent DIY'er much to sort out some thing to go behind the cab and tidy up what has been done. Not forgetting that even a straight pick up conversion will need declaring to DVLA and would be sent for BIVA it woudl be unable to take the test hence why everyone is mentioning using a chassis underneath it . All I was trying to point out is that the work needed would not necessarily need to be of the normal structural standards required once it's placed on a chassis. Assuming you bought a rolling chassis complete with engine.... the work is really all about mounting it onto the chassis and connecting the controls, messing with the imperfections in the bodywork would probably be the easy bit. Ebay is littered with cheap 4 x 4's so someone is gonna get something, that if done right, could look awesome, for very little money. |

'Tis true the body would not have to be structural, but you'd want something strong to protect your head if it fell over while off roading, or even in a normal accident, 4x4's fall over quite easily given some speed and a sudden need to swerve.

My interest was really only to see it saved. Don't get me wrong I'd love to stache it away somewhere as a future project but the car is a long way from here. If Ace is right and these turn out to be the 'golden years' of our hobby, I think we should all do our best to save as much stuff from the frag as we can. I see that someone has bid, so I'm just hoping that I see a 'Won It' thread on here next week. Be nice to see it finished. Would look awesome with a roof chop!
