Spent an very busy, but enjoyable weekend at my little bro's last weekend Sat was spent welding in a new inner wing repair section (had to do the other side a couple of months ago for the MOT, really impressed with the quality of the panels), then on and replaced 1/2 the pass rear arch and a small section on the drivers side before boxing off the sill where had relived it to clear the side exit exhaust he'd made for it. Sunday, inspired by the Area 52 painting weekend, I dusted off my compressor and out with some mat black ;D Really happy with the final results, even if I was shattered by the end of it Anyway, time for a few pic's In progress and out in the sun on Monday I'm also loving the new wide steels he sourced for it. Once its back together (he has learnt from us and is waiting for a few more days to let the paint harden off) should have some completed pics to put up

Did he get the wide steels from Brookhouse Volvo by any chance? A 30 mill or so drop would look great. Amazons ride high as standard because of the long wheel travel dictated by curse word Swedish roads.
I'd be interested to see how he gets on with the Spaxes - are they progressive or single rate?

He did indeed along with the repair panels (which I can't recomend enough).
i think the Spax are -30mm ones (or there abouts), not sure about the rates though.

Nice work Dude. What paint did you use? I'm assuming you went the thinners route?
Looking forward to seeing it put back together and with some more lows.

Used Fascinating Finishes Ltd mil paint with there own thinners as there wasn't the rush to get it back together and it went off hard (with time) on the MX. I've got a spare ltr of their thinners if you want to try some for the next paint weekend. this one wont be proper low sadly, he likes to be able to drive it every where He is talking about dropping a 2.3 turbo from a 7 series volvo in it though at some point ;D

Congrats all round. I'd also like a picture of the noise when you're finished.

Cheers, have to say that we're both pretty chuffed with the way its come out (even if I did spend ages trying to convince him into a diff colour ). I can't help thinking that a bit of pinstriping wouldn't go a miss

I'm impressed. Matt black can look awful if it is patchy, as is often the case with aerosols, but you have done a really good job on it with the compressor...the paint looks very even and uniform. Want.

Using a gun rather than a can did make it allot easier (did my mini Satin black with cans and git it pretty good, but needed to grey prime it 1st to get an evenish coat
