then use the c20let turbo and manifold if your gonna turbo it. plus any other bits that can be had cheap. if you intercool it well then 7 psi would be fine, or if you add meth injection you could run more, alot more ! donno bout meth but I've seen psi doubled when running e85, 14psi stock compression.

50/50 mix of water and methanol takes octane rating up to about 115, and significantly cools the charge air. well worth it !

Would it not be easier and cheaper to whip out the XE and pop a LET in there?

no it wouldnt, the price of an xe compared to a LET, if the LET goes pop its another 800 quid min to replace it. whereas you can pick up XE's for 200 quid

50/50 mix of water and methanol takes octane rating up to about 115, and significantly cools the charge air. well worth it ! correct but the volume of water/meth mix is taking the place of useable fuel air mixture and masking a heat problem that could be resolved otherwise . as far as using an xe or let ,why bother when a 204l saab 2 litre will bolt straight onto the vauxhall box and with the trionic management sytem which can be powered up with 6 wires and a couple of other tricks will give from 150hp in feeblest form right up to 500hp with no mechanical mods to the engine .

umm. no. The mixture cools and becomes more dense, thus allowing MORE fuel and air in. basic physics. and the engine is already in his car, so it would create more work

a good xe will fetch £200 and 2litre 9000 saabs can be found for around £300. sell the cat and gearbox and weigh the rest in to get half the cost back . retain the speedo head and evap canister valve and the management system will work perfectly and a fairly simple interface with a can usb cable unlocks the trionic ecu for home tuning with several proven maps which are freely available from ecu project forum. t25 equipped cars can run around 260 hp reliably and using a secondhand tdo4 can run 300 hp still on the standard saab injectors . my 2.0 runs a holset hx35 which bolts to a standard saab cast manifold with a gm 3 bar map sensor and siemens 630cc injectors . including buying the car it owes me £1100 compared to trying to build your own turbo system i think an engine swop is a better proposition and several let powered cars are going over to saab power .

If this is for the seicento i'd be more likely to go for bike TB's and a nice long primary'd 4-1 exhaust, More manageable torque curve probably go just as fast as the turbo, sub 700kg fwd car would be just spinning up the wheels and not going any where.

supercharger is what would be best if response and torque is what he is after.

sorry to go ot but the saab lump is now making 520hp with a 40hp shot of gas to get the big holset spooling and only has a £70 set of volvo t5 valve springs to let it rev to 7200 with no drama. its now having another holset but this one is vgt so no lag the left one is the current hx35 on the right is the new he351vgt
