I've had a lot of bother with royal mail over the years several parcels lost and a high value turbo smashed to pieces (compressor and exhaust housing!!!) even though it was packed in so much polystyrene it was ridiculous..
Couriers are generally better, but in-between jobs a few years ago just to keep the cashflow up I registered with an employment agency, I got a weeks work in City link in Newbury/Thatcham, what an eye opener that was! I saw a fork truck rammed through a 50" plasma telly (obviously clearly marked as such) basically for fun, I saw pallets of 'opticians equipment (again clearly labelled as such) thrown onto the conveyors and the floor, again pretty much on purpose as they made a loud glass shattering noise when thrown/dropped which seemed to please the monkeys who worked there no end.....
Oddly enough I did a temp job when i was a teenager at City Link in Norwich and they were exactly the opposite, in almost every way, maybe it's a regional thing..
All that said I've had a supra door smashed up by couriers despite being crated, a tow bar kit delivered in various placcy bags as the box had been ripped to shreds, a new lpg kit so battered it looks like it had been to Bosnia and back and various stuff just generally mauled about, usually to see what's in it i reckon
PPC.................. don't get me started, I could rant all day long, suffice to say I share dbizzles thoughts on the matter precisely, and agree entirely that magazines have a future and serve a purpose no other media can currently fulfil..
