I do like the old Xantias. A mate (who's probably a member on here somewhere) talked me into one a few years ago, I was waiting for it to go wrong so I could blame him, but it never did. It was a 2.1TD:

Bit more done today Photo of rear seats fitted: Got the front seats fitted, wired up and cleaned. Unfortunately poor weather and poor light means no photos yet They work however, I've had to disconnect the drivers seat for now as it makes a noise as if a pump is running all the time. They seem to have adjustable lumber support so I'm guessing it's something to do with this. More diagnosis to do

Thanks for the offer, I'm going to take a look, I'll get back to you A couple of things I could do with..... The trim that the switches sit in on the passenger seat is broken and the cover that runs along the bottom of the seat is missing. Any chance?

Well it's now fixed Someone had hacked the wiring about on the drivers seat and a number of wires were incorrectly reconnected. This led to me reversing the main live and earth feed which led to the lumbar working incorrectly. All fixed and working correctly now If it's dry tomorrow photos I promise

The big thing letting the outside down were the chrome trims round the bumpers and along the doors, here is an example of the doors: Over the weekend I had a lucky find, a new genuine Citroen trim for the rear bumper. I also bought a set of the stainless trims for the four doors that are available from a Citroen Car Club member (I first saw them fitted to an XM on here) The whole trim needs to be removed: Then the silver bit comes out: The replacements have to be glued in (I used Tigerseal PU adhesive sealant) Used pegs to give it time to set and took it inside for a bit of extra heat: Unfortunately it was getting dark after I got the trims back on and therefore I wasn't able to get decent photos of how things turned out. The bumper trim has also arrived but I'm siliconing the ends tonight to prevent water ingress as advised by a fellow Xantia owner and will hopefully get it fitted tomorrow

Nice to see love for these now, and you are doing a good job on improving it with little details that many people wouldn't bother with, like the trims you've just done. I bet its a comfortable place to be in those leather seats.
Xantias are a very sharp looking car, I couldn't believe it when they replaced it with the 'sperm whale' that was the C5!

Cleaned the LHM filters (again), tightened the auxilliary drive belt and the pump feed hose clip and the result is the stoplight is now going out much quicker in the mornings Next jobs on the horizon are to change the gearbox oil, bleed the brakes and drop the front end a bit to the correct ride height.
