Full of lovely rods, in a warehouse or ice rink! Really cool advert in my opinion, the R8 Spider looks nice, but the rods were what did it for me!

Love love love it! Got to agree though I'm preferring the rods!
The line they've come up with is brilliant though, mirror, signal, outmanoeuvre.

I like it but can't help thinking its in part a little insulting, inferring that the mass produced Audi is superior to the rods, but since Audi drivers think they are superior to everyone else anyway I'm prepared to let that one slide a little for the eye candy.

I like it but can't help thinking its in part a little insulting, inferring that the mass produced Audi is superior to the rods, but since Audi drivers think they are superior to everyone else anyway I'm prepared to let that one slide a little for the eye candy. I think they just wanted to make the shiney white R8 look as shiney and white as poss, and whoever made the advert must like rods too use them. And tbh I am pretty sure the R8 would outhandle all of the rods lol. Its not mass produced either is it? The R8 is handbuilt iirc |

A comparison of the workmanship that goes into the cars, although still deeming the R8 as superior. It is still pretty insulting to anyone who builds/likes rods or even older cars, but at the end of the day it's Advertising so it will never appeal to everyone. It's aimed at those flashy ladies and gentlemen up in those tall office blocks who'll probably only keep the car for a few years until the next one comes out. |

i wonder if they see the irony in using the rat rod with "unloved" on the back at 0:50, penny to a pound the rod gets more love than most r8s.
i find audis official line on the advert to be quite insulting to the owners of the rods.
is this a repost? if not where else have i seen it?

I hadn't seen it, but the guy behind the counter at my local motorfactor had. He really liked the hot-rods, but couldn't remember what the advert was for ps I don't H8 audis, but I don't R8 the new ones either.... lmao |

Why is everything about handling? I personally don't give a toss. Most of my cars spend most of their time in the city, or on my drive, or on a show field or at the drag strip. Yet everyone harps on about "handling" like it matters. All that matters is what is cool. Any one of those rods or even the dirt track cars in the ad hands the Audi its ass for that.
The R8 may be hand assembled but its not hand built in the traditional sense. And every single one will be the same. Unlike a rod where every one is unique. And cool. Mostly.
FWIW I like the R8. If they ever get to the £1500 cheap sports car bracket I might try one for a chuckle.

The only reason i mentioned the handling was because that was what they were getting at in the advert with the tag line. Amazo - so sorry about the repost, it does happen on forums from time to time, when one doesnt manage to read every post i saw it and happened to be on here at time and thought others might like it, obviously I misunderstand what internet forums are about. The reason for posting was to do with the hot rods than the Audi, something I thought users on here might like! Anyway, sorry if i offended you.  |

No, it's audis... my exhaustive survey (conducted by driving around with my eyes open) says BMWs are mostly driven by women, who let you out of junctions, and wave and stuff (I'm not counting Xwhatever and Mwhatever...) but Audis are driven by the people we used to hate when they drove Bimmers. I got a wave from a guy in an audi A4 'vert the other day.. he came taring up the outside of a queue of cars waiting to overtake a lorry on one of the rare bits of the carlisle end of the A69 with 2 lanes, dove in front of me at the last second and made me brake hard, then gave me a nice wave after he cut me up. Kind of a fist loosly clenched moving up and down sort of wave.... wonder if he meant him or me?
