I don't really understand what's happened to the streetview on our street as when it first went live you could scroll seamlessly up the road and had a few nice views of my old Mazda and a random old 5 series BMW that must've been visiting. But now it just skips from the junction just by my house to the junction 500yds down the road, I suspect someone with something to hide has complained, although I don't know who.

I didn't realise they'd got all the roads on now. Sadly, we were obviously out on the day they came up my road. Twas last 6 months though as you can see my trailer on the drive and cards in the window so either SWMBO's birthday, Little 2fster's birthday or Christmas. We're not at the in-law's or my olds either. Could be at work but, whilst you can see there are cars on the car park, you can't make them out from the road.

Not my retro, still haven't found it, but I've got me in the summer of 2008, in my work scruff heading to the hotel from site. I remember seeing the car and wondering what the rhubarb it was. I was a looong way from home too. maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=bridge+road&sll=51.509046,-0.093995&sspn=0.001643,0.003449&ie=UTF8&split=1&rq=1&ev=zi&radius=0.07&hq=bridge+road&hnear=&ll=51.508752,-0.094183&spn=0,359.996551&z=18&layer=c&cbll=51.508686,-0.094215&panoid=6GFg0BfOAPYNDWwGmBeDHw&cbp=12,62.97,,1,9.89

Maybe I'll queer it by speaking up, but I don't find it proper to post up images of cars and property with addresses or directions. It seems completely intrusive to me. The owner hasn't asked for such celebrity. Isn't it up to the owner to post up his own address, should he want to? (Along with his piles of possessions viewed over his hedges and fences?)
I don't think the fact that technology exists for sat or street views automatically confers upon us the right to post up his personal details. (Regardless of what Google decides is right or public domain!)
I'd ask the posters and mods to give this some additional consideration.
Only my opinion. Ignore away, let the din drown me out, if this is just "old fuddy duddy privacy stuff" and I'm way out of step with the "times".
Cheers, Norm

Norm, you do have a point.
I always edit the details out, hell if you don't move the mouse for a second or two before you 'print screen' the address details fade out anyway.
I can't see a problem with posting images with no address or obvious geographical markers though, its just like going for a spotting stroll without the exercise or getting cold/wet/mugged.
