Hi
i wonder if anyomne can give me any help
I'm not too familiar with a live rear end as ive been used to indipendent stuff
i need to remove the halfshafts from the axel to repalce the seal to diff and generally inspect internals however i can remove shafts!!
ive undone what i think is 4 bolts holding shaft to the axel case in but they will not budge at all!!!, i can find any info on the net and seem to be stuck, ive probably missed something simple.
ive tryed a bar to get them out with no avail, i thought they would just slide out easily?
any help apprieciated
cheers

a picture maybe of help, but if you have removed the bolts holding it to the case it may just be seized, have u tried with a chisel in between the 2 surfaces?

I think a slide hammer is your answer: if english halfshafts are the same as the Japanese I have, they can be very stuck, even if they only are held in by the bearing on the halfshaft //edit: to slow, beaten to it

Slide hammer is what you need, in the past I have used ad old drum reversed and hit with a FBH, normally ends up damaging the drum, you will find the bearings will partially rusted in its seat, it is feasable the shaft has possibly never been out of the axle.
