My bezzie mate has had loads of these so I've played in most varients and we took a stripped turbo to the PPC 999 challange last year..
The head gasket thing ('DHG' dreaded head gasket to supra owners) applies to all of them turbo or not and stems from the head not being torqued down enough from the factory, apparently if you add a few lb/ft to them all their pretty safe (excact details can be found on the net..) the throttle response on the N/A is lovely though you just cant beat the urge from the turbo, makes it a completely different animal feels so much more purposeful and brutal..
I've yet to see one like yours with cloth interior everyone my mates had have had lovely full leather with the electric bolsters (except the last one which we stripped and fitted buckets) one of the few retro J cars I'd actually own, thought it'd have to be a manual turbo in black met blue or silver, cant be having with all these white and red ones about...
have a picture of my mates last one after he wrapped it round some steel railings (the reason it became a 999 challenge car..)
