The original Carb was FUBARred, so tried to find a replacement or parts.. well that turned out to be impossible, even the dealer couldn't help me on parts for that Denso carb.. seems to be rarer than hen's teeth.. So went to pick up a carb at a friend of mine which seemed to fit to a monopoint injection manifold I had laying around. Take a Suzuki Swift MK2 monopoint injection manifold and a Weber carb off a Volvo 340 Length is about right, width is a bit off Made the holes a bit bigger to give room to the throttle valves to open, and drilled and tapped to m8 holes. When at RR08 we obviously did a trip to Halfords and I took a box of (INBUS) Hex bolts.. they fitted perfectly.. exact fit INBUS bolts Have to make a gasket for the carb, but I have some paper laying around.. And errm Mark succes cleaning your shed, there's Alumuminium everywhere.. Maybe I add some Alu tonight when flowing the manifold.. hopefully the swift will run with this carb and it's on the road again after 3 months or so.. So I can continue my projects.. Although I heard Mark about getting a nearly free Hanomag camper that obviously needed somewhere to be stored dry.. and had some work ;D

Hi,
I got side skirt from mk1 Gti if you want them. I broke my car up and some of the parts are left over.
Let me know if you would like to take it.
Cheers Atchi

to do: make bracket for throttle cablereplace front bumper, headlight and bonnet mount choke cable wire fuel pumpbodge air filter on wash and drive tried to set it up, cos it only runs with the choke applied, but no succes on that platform.. maybe drive it to a weber specialist when I'm ready and do a decent setup/jetting on the carb.

unfortunately I couldn't get it to run properly with the weber carb, so decided to make some bike carbs fit.. had a flange made by a mate with a plasma cutter, now to source some pipe and weld together... ain't gonna make rr10 :-(

Shame it was a nice conversion with the weber too (though looks like you broke through into a chamber which could be giving you a big air leak depending what that little brass fitting is connected to - unless its meant to have a hole there?) Did you re-jet it for your engine? If not I bet it was running MASSIVELY rich - hence why it'd be impossible to get it to run, I'd be surprised if it didn't flood itself at idle. It'd probably need different float settings too, and you're fuel pump may well have been delivering the wrong amount of fuel. Plus those carbs do like to have a plastic spacer between the carb and manifold, it prvents fuel evapouration and reduces the rick of foaming - I'd give it another go to be honest, should only take a couple of hours to get it running right. It'll be a damn sight easier to get it going right on that than bike carbs! Good luck with it

I guess indeed it was running very rich, but I haven't got a clue where to get different jets..
As this carb was from a volvo 340 1.4 which is quite tame, I guessed it would work on a 1300cc suzuki engine which has a wilder cam as the volvo..
Also I wanted to put it on bike carbs anyway in the near future.
