It is a device that is supposed to add lead to your unleaded fuel, no idea if it works but I would be very suspicious of it ;D I remember them being marketed along with a load of other iffy solutions when leaded petrol started being phased out
Thats a brocket thing, the lead pellets disolve adding lead as you drive. least thats the theory, believe that and you'll believe anything. I think they're still for sale too.
My god, Broquet, that's name I haven't heard in a while! Used to be in every edition of Exchange & Mart, and yes, they are still going!
Lots of happy progress today! Decided to take the challenge of the inner arches.
First side cleaned up and plate made
Then the challenge of the other side. I cleaned up the side as best I could!
Fabricated a patch. Took bloody forever! There were probably easier ways, maybe a two peice patch but I'd started so I'd finish, kinda thing and soldiered on until I'd got it fitting perfectly.
T'was a double curve and a pig to shape..
Welded in. Not exactly the tidiest, I think the first patch was better. This one was a bit of a mess by the end. Lots of stopping and starting. Sealed the outside edge too...
... and then gunked both arches in Hammerite
Looking good! Very pleased to have this done. The interior can be pretty much finished up now, tidy the boot up, decide what and where everything will fit in there, and make space for the battery/amp etc.
Are the Gel batteries any good?
Thanks guys, I'll try to get some more pics of the rear lights/side reflector units, headlight units and valance I've cleaned up (and resprayed the rear lights)
Ok, I'm going to get shot now, but I'm stumped and whilst documenting the fuel system so I wouldn't be lost putting it all back together again, I've come across a pipe I really don't know where it goes to!?!?!
This is the sucker. I've popped the piccie here too to explain where it fits in. Basically it comes out of the TOP of the seperator tank, through a small filter, out under the boot and then disappears?!
The Haynes manual doesn't say where it goes either, it's just a pipe that ends lol..
I'm loving the restoration tho. As the car is up on stands with bits being painted etc it's just so easy to drop something else off, clean, paint and pop back on all shiny!
Really excited at how the car will look when finished
Anyway, thanks, and sorry for the dumb question! Chris
