On the Volvo theme: 217k miles when I sold it. Loved it. Both of these. The Sunny had 35k when I sold it to my brother-in-law who left it sitting for months. The L200 had a cracked block when I traded it in. Should have got it repaired coz it was great!

She wasnt perfect but she was my baby. I thought she had it all, style, performance, practicality and a sound that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. People used to give me the thumbs up and come over and talk to me about her. I loved her to bits so why did i sell her? Tw*t!!!

Seems a lot of use have sold 'tinas and wish we'd kept them. This one was lovely as well, very solid and had a 5 speed fitted - got it ready for the road but ran out of money for insurance as a student so it had to go to support the Escort One day I'll have another

In no particular order and sorry no pics as I haven't got round to scanning them in yet! Toyota Corolla 2 door coupe AE86 - scrapped when I couldn't afford new discs and calipers for the back Opel Manta - Immaculate, one 10p size bit of rust, sold on to a f-wit who blew the engine up and abandoned it on the side of the autobahn as he didn't have roadside recovery. T25 double kabin pickup, lowered, Azev A's, 2.1 boxer, lots of custom extras! Sold after fitting a brand new engine and running out of money to finish it off. Peugeot 309 Gti with Cheetah conversion, all in black. Yum But my absolute biggest regret was my 2 door Taunus (Mk 5 Cortina) lowered, 13" Ronals, was stripped and ready to be resprayed when I moved back to the UK from Germany. Went back to pick it up with the DocKa above, engine blew up just outside Calais, recovered home, 2K for a new engine and no money left to go and collect the Taunus! I was heart broken. My best mate had it towed away for me for scrap I'll pop pictures on later.

Every car I ever sold. Especially my rot-free '73 Mini - losing storage is the death of good cars:(

I wish I hadn't sold my first Mk1 Golf, but unfortunately I had just been made redundant and owned 3 cars, so it (along with my Renault 5) went so I could pay the rent. The new owner only lived 3 streets away from me, but I've never seen it again. If anyone sees it (unlikely as it's not been taxed since I owned it) or knows who owns it now, I'd happily buy it back!

Bought this, drove it home and it was the most fun car I've ever driven, SO enjoyable! Sold it because (stupidly) when trying to get insurance I said that the rotary engine had been replaced with a 1.8 bmw engine, which is fine, telling them the rotary was a 1.3 wasn't fine! If I'd told them it was a 2.3 (which is what they counted it as) they'd have been fine. B*LL*CKS! Lol, I regret that SO much!

I hate selling cars (my recent experience flogging my mums old Swift has done nothing to change this ) and they've always been daily runners, usually with a good reason why they're going up the road. But; E664 NDU - a basic, plain old Metro L 1.3, but one of the most dependable vehicles I've ever owned, I looked after it (unusual for a mechanic ) and it looked after me. And I sold it because I was bored in favour of a free Sierra I rescued from under a tree. H527SVF - DOHC Sierra Sapphire Ghia. Delocked, Five spokes, Ashley exhaust, Janspeed 4 branch and the usual Ghia refinements it looked and sounded good . But the metal moths were chomping away in weird places, like I found a large hole in the chassis over the beam mount . Sierras' are usually quite shagged before the rust gets that far! I sorted that but didn't have the time / heart to sort the myriad of other bits that needed it. Passed it on to Jonnysierra, who in turn passed it to another guy who, I think bodykitted it. Got parted out when the complicated alarm / immobilizer threw a huge hissy fit RIP

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place
