Just been thinking of my old H reg Escort 1.6L estate and wishing I hadnt sold it. I also wish I could remember the reg so I could see if its still on the road . Think of Tri's Escort, then imagine that the previous owner has fitted a tuned XR3 engine with fast road cam, vernier pulley, K&N filter, ported, and with a lightened clutch (was other things done to it, but cant remember what ), then imagine its completely standard on the outside apart from Cloverleaf alloys and a slight lowering The car had one of the best exhaust noises (deep burbling) I have ever heard, even though it was a standard exhaust Sadly I had to sell the car as it didnt like slow/town driving

There's a lot of cars I really regret selling (my mkII Cortina and my kit car both went last year and I wish I hadn't had to do it, and I miss my satin black mkIII XR3 and all of my 205 GTis a lot), but I will never, ever forgive myself for letting these two go: When I win the EuroMillions, I'll devote my life to finding them and getting them back.

my 1600E I sold back in 1996, anchor blue paint code BJ, don't know why that sticks in my head ;D was I nicely painted wreck untill I spent £3500 on it, full bare metal respray, new wings slam you know, lots of new parts for it, custom exhaust bur walnut wood, full chrome rostilles, the reg is RSN932H it took two years to get it ready, I knew two other guys who had 1600E's and every time they came round to see my car it was either away having welding, paint or something so the standing joke was that I never even had a 1600E, the first show we all went to it won a prize, the other two never spoke to me again ? I saw the car driving towards my in Ealing (west london) about a year ago, I could not believe my eyes and it looked to be in very nice condition, only sold it because I needed the money to get married, and I'm not even married anymore oh well you live and learn, I'm not bitter Honest ;D

Urrgh, I came into this thread with no regrets but, some nice vehicles have passed through your hands. Sweet looking Capri, Black XR, and that Victor, as well as sleepered mk4 Es. I'd be upset looking back at those. Most of mine have been so sh1te, tired, or ended in a crappy way that I don't look back. only one would be my terminally rusty '86 Micra, that was awesome.p Pretty much what my Fez van has become; looks curse word, only a few gets it but loads of fun and character. I'm reluctant to let the current fleet go though, apart from the Kadett, prob is they are all so rare finding others would be sooo difficult. hmm

My 93 EG Civic LSi Was amazingly mint, and with 111,000 miles, (with what we think was the original honda stamped battery), it ran like a swiss watch. Best driving car ever too. it was sporting multispoke 17's originally but i didnt like the way they drove and made it look like a donk, so they were binned out for some original Vti alloys. I found some serious rot in the rear quarters and, being naive, had it cheaply glassed up at the time as a quick fix before getting it welded. Then decided to selll it as I wanted an estate to put my bikes in ( I did tell the bloke who bought it the truth). I should have just paid the money originally to get the welding done - don't know why I didnt!. It seems to be off the road now so I assume the rust killed it (it does on these if not fixed - really localised, but right next to the suspension). Immediatley regretted it, but i've ploughed so much money keeping my sodding 406 on the road I cant really trade it in. Good car, just immeasurably dull. the civic would now be sporting banded steels (cream) and a set of nice coilovers :-)

oh god where do I start?! 1982 audi GT5E-plate escapes me...I'm getting old! 2.2 5 pot same colour as gene hunts quattro. blacked out rear lights and reflector, slam and 15" tsw stealths. I adored that car but wanted the next one on my list so did a swap with my mate. it ended up nicked and burnt out. I don't know who was more gutted! id have another tomorrow... 1982 capri 2.8i-DHJ 440X stock body, caspian blue over silver on standard pepperpots and standard ride height stiff suspension. engine was modded to bits with 182BHP at the wheels! standards only listed at 160 at the flywheel! mean old girl that one. rebuilt and uprated 4 speed box and an lsd meant she'd top 130 in third....on a private road of course lol! I had some toyo challenge spec exhausts made and had to stamp my own bsau codes on them as they were so loud they werent road legal. stereo had to be switched off over 75mph as you couldnt hear it! 4mpg driving gently and a 10 mile round trip for work almost bankrupted me! upset many an rs turbo and demolished a merc clk round the evesham bypass! opposite lock round the outside of him accelerating off a roundabout was hilarious! 1983 capri 2.8i-RJU 572Y stock this time all gloss black, destriped, debadged, black lights, black headlamp covers, black 7 spokes, comedy knight rider light and the same spec exhausts as the blue one. tickford leathers inside and big stereo 1989 peugeot 309GTi-F322WOL grey, goodwood leather interior, slammed, momo wood wheel, peco exhaust.....i wrote it off like a tw@t 1976 2 door tina-OMH 799R roman bronze (aka brown!) at the time it was reported to be one of only 11 left on the road! 1600 x-flow, cosworth front seats, 4 spokes, 2" drop, spots and dixie horns. not fast but a proper head turner. swapped for a k plate orion 1.8i ghia as I was in a long distance relationship and winter motorways every weekend were taking their toll its the only one I have pics of too there are more but after much soul searching these are the ones I wish I still had!

I then wanted to start cleaning the interior as it stinks of wood (the material not the smell of a boner) best quote ever!

I miss my 505 STi. It had to go because I didn't have room for it. Just had a bit of rust in a roof gutter, but otherwise was mint. Bizarrely it was assembled by British Leyland in their Australian factory!

my rare Starlet 1.3S: shouldn't have wrecked the engine and sold it in parts Still regret the day I decided parting out the car was easier then fitting an other engine (i had done 5 or 6 swaps in that month allready, all those stupid 1.3 engines from different starlets, I had enough of it).

My van... I have put more of my blood, sweat and tears into that van than any other car I've owned. Unfortunately at the time I couldn't afford to get the bodywork sorted so decided to sell it before the rust got too bad. Should of kept it and saved up. Went like stink with a short 'box and 10" wheels on (but ran out of puff quite quick!) and handled better than any other of my minis.
