This is rarer than a rare thing.
A 1965 Datsun (prob manufactured 64 -judging by the chassis plate) 2 door, 4seater 'ute'. There were NO official imports of this model into the Northern Hemisphere
I tracked this down in the 'boonies' of Melbourne, and shipped it home,to join my other early Japs.
Datsun made around 8000 U series for the Australian market, the vast majority being 310(2 seaters). These were the only Rhd/mileometer models made.
Ozzies only Dattie historian reckoned less than 1000 320's were made-and very few survive.
This is the ONLY one in the UK-prob Europe.
OK. RHD, speedo in miles-reading around 85,000, she's a first time starter, regular runner. The last 'trip' I used it for was a 180 mile round trip into North London to collect a heavy Range cooker. No preparation -no problems. 38 mpg.
This car/pickup is totally original.
Rust free, never been welded, not showing any signs of needing any- it just shows mild signs of use. The bed is completely solid- with a few dents. Tailgate folds flat- for 'bigger loads'. Tonneau is undamaged, and keeps out the weather, thanksto the original crossbar-stopping puddling in the centre.
Interior is as original, right down to the molded rubber floor covering. Front seats - a little damaged/faded-tip diagonally to get into the 2 rears. Front inertia belts & rear static belts seem to be the only 'modification'.
Behind the rear seats are the original jack, brace & unused toolkit-in the original Datsun logo'd bag.
1 key (have spares!) fits doors, ignition & original locking petrol cap.
Running gear is similar to Leyland A/B series -master cylinders are Girling copies for example.
Good runner, puff of smoke on startup -but thats it. Exhaust is tired, but is prettysimple/straightforward.
Manual gearbox- on the column, shows no wear/noises. All as it should be .
6 stud 15 inch wheels on crossplies-good condition, little wear.
V5c in my name, sold with new MOT/years (free) tax). Some Australian history, shipping paperwork, past & Manual on CD.
£3995. Negotiable- a bit, like-minded p/x possible.
Plenty more pics -if you're a distance away -welcome to 'try before you buy'.
