To continue on from the Bay thread, I went to see a nice little 4-door Chevette this evening and...: I've half changed my mind about the HS kit on it...the stripes and front end. It has the right stance and sound in the flesh to pull it off, I think... *n

It slightly shocked me just how clean the thing is...
32,700 on the clock, was owned by the original buyer (el vicar) until march this year, bought and modded slightly by the guy who has it now, who has just started work on a mkII Golf (just visable int he pics. Dad quote: "Why do they put single lights on Golfs? Makes them look poncy. Like a bloody Jetta!") and is getting shot of the shove.

Cool nice one ;D I used to find the best way to slam a shove it was to have four big blokes travelling in it all the time no need for a spring chop then ;D

Great car...not sure that the HS bumper or boot spoiler are quite in keeping with the usual RR philosophy, but a fab find!

Sterling work! Its gonna be ace! Its making me want a shove-it even more! Is that insurance quote, for a classic policy? Or a 'proper' one? Will you get some no-claims at the end?
I think there will have to be a R-R executive board meeting to decide on a styling package for you! Got some queries about the HS bumper and blacked out lights....!

There's a very simple recipe to follow that will make this car look cool. Remove all plasticy business. Chop and wire the springs, stick on a nice roofrack and oil drum with a 9 star 'euro' logo underneath and finish her off with 8x13s and 155/70 13s. Sorted ;D .... maybe throw a couple of helmets on the back seat and here's a thought - paint the bonnet matted olive green. New retro trend? Stencil a sickle on as well for good measure and you're there. 'Penski look'.

Good work,.. good car now,.. with potential to be even better. I'd go for the 'Penski look' by which I mean the one you want (which may or may not match Shellysowners idea) ...

Bo11ox - That's for real grown up insurance. Kinda threw me for six - was expecting around a grand. No-Claims too! Racer - engine is bone stock, runs sweet as a nut and is disturbingly clean. Current owner had it lowered (not chopped ) Closer examination reveals that the HS front end is rather well blended into the bodywork...Would need to have a good dig around to see if it could be removed and remain salvageable. Gonna leave it as is for a while until I get a feel for it...See if I could Euro it mit silver...That beige Brazilian gave me a few prompts... *n

SUPERB!
Glad you've finally blagged yourself something. 'Twas worth the wait. A good starting point for something spesh.
Please ditch the B+W plates for road use though, else you'll soon be having your collar felt be Mr Plod!

Wow! I actually don't mind the look of the front spoiler, but first thing I'd do after getting it home is get that thing off the bootlid!

I like the B+W plates...
If it gets mentioned, I'll plead ignorance 'they were on it when I bought it, officer. My apologies...Didn't know it had to have yellow/whites. Will get it sorted ASAP!'
I reckon a small lip spoiler on the boot would balance the front end out - kinda like a small version of the ducktail on Racer's Red Shuv.
I'll sort out some hi-res pics once it's in my mitts.
