Right, spurred on by the enquiry on Vanpeebles (see him here soon, I hope..)
I propose we all get together in the next 8 weeks, preferably somewhere quite like an abandoned industrial estate and do a little filming. I have a suitable, high enough quality camera to produce to DVD or VHS, plus I've also got the appropriate editing and titling software to use.
What we should be looking for is just a short 5 or so minute review of each car, engine shots, startup, revving driving around, not really any stupidity and some driveby stuff.
I've got three tapes so 180 minutes of footage, get it all on the rig and make up some nice credits and whey, off we go. Got appropriate backing music and as it won't be a commercial product can use whatever. Just for us
I looked last year at producing a magazine-on-dvd style thing,.. just doing a couple a year... plan was to cover events, relevant motor racing, interviews with retro people (Sterling Moss etc. etc.) but not having a DV cam and enough time put me off...
allo people i saw the vids of the turbo charged imp in car and i thought id love just to watch an hour of this beast just driving around, sounds lovely! any chance please? id pay!
i mentioned it to lewis on msn, and he came up with this idea, which sounds superb. a dvd would be great because it would give you a real feel of the cars
yeah happy to help out, I'm a god damn tart and showing my car off is is great! Ill get some more film, before i compress it to go on the web its real high quality mpeg2. 11mins takes 512megs of memory at 3000kbps should be fine for DVD.
