Okay guys and gals, I was chatting to Ian who organises Retro Cars Show and I said that I'd ask you guys what you thought was good, bad, etc. etc. about the show.
There is a thought to move the show to a circuit next year and see how it works there, with people being able to get track time like they do at some of the Action Days that A&S also run.
So,.. what do you reckon to this years show, and what would you like for the future?

SUPERB IN EVERY WAY. I'd prefer to see it stay at the 'pod though. There are more (and more interesting) cars better suited to strip action rather than tracks. I'd like to see it develop into a full on two-day event!

Yep, I agree - the Pod is perfect (and my Benz won't corner). But one day isn't long enough! I'd willingly pay more for a 2 day event Fantastic show this year.

Definately could do with it being 2 days. I'd get time to see everything / catch up with everyone from here then!

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Needs a few more trade stands and then it'd be perfect imo.

I thought it was a fantastic event and wherever it is, i'll be there next year.
A 2 day event would be even better.
I like the idea of it being held at a circuit, what about a hillclimb or spint course?

The Santa Pod location is fine, but lacks the camping facilities. I did a few bug jams there and in my yoof, personal hygeine wasn't an issue then but I'd probabily be right in saying washing facilities would be important.

I'd prefer to see it stay at the pod, I enjoy strips more than circuits. Again more trade stands and autojumble would be preferable and 2 days (providing they could find stuff to fill the 2 days) would be even better! Aslong as they don't move it any further south, I couldn't be doing with that.

I liked the idea of having some real retro drag cars there to watch, more of that would be great. For me the show was better when hanging around the pits than on the show field. I'm deffo going to RWIB next year so plz don't change venue!! its perfect at the pod.

I'm just gutted I missed it! Went last year, but I had to go to a family reunion this year... curse word! Did I miss much? How did it compare to last year?

If its lonely, brown and crusty. I'll love it, modify it, then kill it!

Pod or Circuit, either's fine. More trade stands deffo, nicer tuck wagons, more girls (scratch that last one)

think it works at the pod i would be wairy about running my van on a curcuit with other cars on it just 2 years of building it and the thought of sombody driving into it in a snotter they don't care about or worse finding it dosen't handle and stuffing it into the wall

I agree, I don't see what it would gain by moving to a circuit. Keep it at the pod!!!

The Santa Pod location is fine, but lacks the camping facilities. That one's easily solved: with enough alcy-hole the camping facilities don't matter so much! I didn't find camping bad at all! ;D

Pod or Circuit.... but if kept at the Pod then a drift course with cones would be excellent ;D For those whose cars do more than straight line I didnt run the Audi as 4wd and grippy track means shagged clutch on these at the very least, if there had been a conedodgers course set out then I would have played on that happily. Lots of Retros are Rwd.... could have a nice easy intro to Drifting

I didn't go to the show this year unfortunately, so I can't really comment on the facilities at it, but I reckon it'd be cool if there's something in addition to the strip, something with some corners laid out sounds cool, even if it's only with cones or something, if only to make up for embarrassment I'll no doubt feel next year when I turn up and the Imp makes a fool of itself on the quarter mile by taking about half an hour. ;D ;D ;D If there are corners I'm in with a chance of beating someone. (Well, if that someone happens to be driving a Pathmaster roadsweeper or similar! ;D ;D ;D)
