1990 3.0 12v auto. mot til june 29th '09 taxed til end of feb. had various welding done for last test inc dropping the rear subframe to do the chassis kickup. currently being driven by me daily.
bad points- has various battle damage from idiot truck drivers and italian micra drivers, most notable a very bashed lhs front wing and front edge of door, both wing mirrors smashed, dent in rear panel below light, various other scuffs and scrapes but nothing that stops it being road legal. rear arches are full of filler, has rust in boot closing panel. rest is solid. wont run on petrol only lpg, suspect fuel pump has died. lpg ticks over erratically between 700 and 1500rpm, dunno why.
good bits- tein super street coilovers (intened for an S13) with camber adjust top mounts. bolt in to stock hubs at the bottom, strut tops modded accordingly. height and damping adjustable with keeper srings. new front brake discs and pads (£90) towbar with electrics. OMVL lpg system, 80L tank. does about 170-180 miles on 35 quids worth driven fiarly sensibly, I once had 200miles out of a tank on a run. various wheels and tyres, 3x stock alloys(15x7), 4x volvo steels(15x6), pair of 16x6"vectra alloys. irmischer woodrim steering wheel. decent leccy fan with external capillary control. full stainless powerflow exhaust, a bit bashed but doesnt leak.
interiors is stripped, but I still have all of it if you want it, full black leather with heated seats. has a cheap rage bucket seat and a red luke harness.
has a plate-type lsd that does actually lock up pretty well (replaced with a re-con item about 3 years ago, with recept), and does slide ok for an auto, mostly due to the flat handling provided by the super stiff coilovers.
£500 or swap for a T+T volvo 240 estate, manual 2 or 2.3L, or a manual 2L sierra or p100 or a celica supra. in other words something RWD with a bit of power and a manual 'box thats T+T and on the road so i can drive it right now.

VIP - as much as I admire your ability to remember much stuff about other peoples cars and ebay P alloys (lol) - I think you are being a tad unfair here by showing these pics. but hey so what - I cant stop you....

I was seriously considering buying this when it was on air and omega alloys, and I was seriously considering this yesterday (I won't because of insurance). The car has been hit a few times, isn't washed in the photos and has mixed alloys, it's also half the price... It's still a lot of car for the money.
I was seriously tempted by this, good luck with the sale.

Not meant as spiteful, I'm sure there are reasons for the car ending up like it is, it's just a shame that a once cool car has ended up a track slag. No different to the abandoned thread really!

there is reasons for the car ending up like this. same way there was a reason for it being for sale with airbags, lpg, and loads of other good/expensive bits for £800 when I bought it- mostly cos it was a bodged up pile of curse word garnished with a collection of nice bits(although it didnt come with the nice wheels shown above). the original photos are more than a little sympathetic. they don't show the bonnet, cos it had a huge flat dent in it. they don't show the drivers side wing, cos its bashed up along the edge where someone tried to drive it with a wheel clamp on. they also don't show the bubbly wheel arches. speaking of which I have a recept from 4 years ago to weld them up, which says- 'take rusted rear arches back to good metal and weld in supplied repair panels and new metal, make good all repair work and paint' but they're actually made out of fiberglass and filler all along the arch lips for about 1" depth, so someone got fleeced bigtime in the past, as this and a few other little jobs cost them £2k!! its exactly what the rest of this car was like, all bodged, most of which ive now fixed. the airbags were removed as they're were poorly fitted and I decided to remove the rears before they failed as it was twisting them as they worked and they were rubbing on the chassis.
I'm not stupid though, I knew that when I bought it. I actually only ever bought it as a donor car for another project, I was gunna run it til the test ran out then break it, but plans changed and I ended up re-testing it the amount of welding to get it through the last MOT was obscene, and I only did the bare mimimum to get a pass, not the cosmetic stuff as well. it had a good 10" long section of chassis replaced at the rear kickup, wich saw it on the lift for 2x 14 hr days of solid work as the rear subframe had to be dropped to do it, which also meant removing the exhaust, lpg tank, air tank and valves, rear seats, and towbar! then I had to weld the front chassis kick and the sills. i wont even go into details about the pop-rivetted plates over rusty holes in the floorpans and the boot floor........... most other people would have either not have been able to justify the amount of work if they could weld, or simly not be able to afford to get it welded up if they were paying someone else, so its bloody lucky its still around now to be honest. this car wasnt 'nice' when I got it and will never been 'nice' again, but it will make a competent track car, so thats what I'm selling it as.
stu, I'm not adverse to breaking it, so if you wonna talk a deal on the LPG, gimmie a ring. 07813289931.

Sorry Dez, my post comes across sounding like a dick, it wasn't meant that way. Same as some of my similar posts, I need to learn when to STFU sometimes. I just meant it was a shame that what (appeared to be) a sweet looking ride now looks so battle worn!

Of course I used to own this car, and Dez bought it from me. The previous owner had a mountain of problems with the car and this is the reason why I bought it from him so cheaply. He spent a lot of money on the car trying to make it what he wanted it to be but ignoring the important bits, like welding and wiring. I sold it to Dez at a good price for what it was due to the nice bits on it, like the airbags, the Gold-Top 12v engine, irmscher steering wheel and powerflow exhaust, etc etc. To be honest, I never bought the car to do up and keep myself, I bought it as my Carlton GSI was in the bodyashop getting a shedload spent on it, so it was a filler car for me too, even though I ended up sorting a lot of things out. Shame it ended up like this, but it was it's destiny I guess... If I had kept it, I would have turned it into a tramp drifter myself.

Someone will buy this, please don't take it apart! Dunno if you have time or money, but putting a few things back on would give it a better chance?
