Hi guy's this is coming to you via me for him. (him being Dan the parts manager at my works) Well the boy is insane, quick over view of story. Buy's mini off ebay to do trackdays, wants something a bit more powerfull, buy's scrap mk3 golf 1.6 from work cheap, chops front off mini, chops back off golf, in steps Mark one of our very skilled pannel beaters, flip front for mini ordered, steel ordered, cage steel ordered, pipe bender purchased. Me with a camera and a desire to show you where we are so far. Mark's dad even arived to get involved today, used the front bulkhead, subframe and turrets from the golf. Intention is to have all golf running gear including PAS etc under a mini body with arcges to cover the obvious discresion in track.

Definitely imaginative. Given it's a Golf front end and Golf lump from GTI to VR6 to 1.8T should fit. Be interesting to see how he gets a Mini front end over that lot. Clubby front?

A blown VR6 with 300BHP would be fun in that!
More practicle would be a sorted 2.0 16v.

More metal to come off those front chassis legs so will still be a traditional fronted mini, God we must be stupid but yes it will fit. Going to put the mk 3 rear beam under the rear to get the track width matching.

Well some more produtive working has occured and thought you would like to see the next step. Well the front turrets are in and the springs have been chopped to get a rough idea of where we want her to sit, this also meant engine back in to weight the car up, thought then we had better figure out how to fit the rear beam. . Boxes are all now double semed in for strength, we did get the beam in but my batteries went dead so will bring you another update later in the week.
