If that had been the TD with teh legendary Perkins engine in I'd have jumped at it. Have you tried the Maestro and Monego owner's forum thing? It's probably a bit over priced mate (no offence) but getting a very rare site now and aside from rust these were very competant and under rated cars.

Not technically a Countryman either - they came later.
Lots of potential there. Can't remember when I last saw a pre-facelift Montego estate! Hasn't even got roof bars!

So you don't actually own this car then? Yes I do. I bought it first thing this morning and I'm going to collect it in the next day or two... hence can be delivered or picked up from Wiltshire or Bristol. Early bird gets the worm and all that!

Early bird gets the worm and all that! That's as maybe. Last week you were attempting to sell a vehicle that you had bought on here claiming that you had taken it in part exchange. Now you are advertising a car that you do not have in your possesion (and ergo cannot possibly know the total picture regarding condition), at a mark-up of 100%. I am not saying it is against the law or anything. But I would think that being economical with the truth is going to win little favour here. You can be as 'early bird' as you like, but if you appear to be untrustworthy, you may find that these bargains won't be finding new homes with RR members.

TBH don't see the difference it makes... I bought it cheap and I'm selling it cheap. If you don't like it I'm not holding a gun at your head to buy it! Good job I've got 3 Montego fans from another site coming over the weekend then. It seems some people have issue with someone else trying to make a few quid. If I'd put "Gave £140 for it cheap off a forum, stands me at £180 and now flogging it for quick profit" I wouldn't have got a single offer on that Escort. Being economical with the truth (in that context, obviously not concerning the condition) is the best way to make people think they're not been done over. If people don't approve, I'll declare the car "sold" then.
