*I hated the 4 hours I spent enjoying testing the safety of the trampoline. The wife and I used to live next door to a family that had a trampoline. They used to invite us round some times to play on the trampoline.. when they went on holiday they said if we wanted to hop over the fence and use their trampoline that was all good..... Trampolines are Orsum! Not better than cars though..

Gotta vote GF - she costs me more than the cars, wants the cars road worthy (all at once of course!) and hates me going into the garage unless it's to get her something to drive to work. Of course if I'm not in the garage she then complains 'cos the cars aren't done......... but that's just typical female thinking. Other than that - she's a cracker (if you're reading this babe, luv ya ) LOL! I know your pain, whether its car related, pc related or bike related :-)

It wouldn't be so bad if women had hobbies. What do they do when we're not about, just sit there and do nothing like normal or do they ever get a life?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Voted mechanical issues but I suppose in reality it's money as I'm more often than not unable to repair stuff myself and have to pay someone to fix them.

I asked my missus that once and have regretted it ever since. Apparantly they do something called 'ayeroning' and 'cleaning up the oil from the engine bits I bought into the house'.

Bit of a no brainer really, enough money would fix all the other problems- including the missus!

Why do they always want the entire house redecorating, a conservatory, wider drive, landscaping, etc., all done at once? Wider drive = more space for cars ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

If you've got the money to buy desent stuff it don't go wrong! Plus if you've got that sort of cash the GF can be kept happy with a few nice things

They phone all their friends up and moan about us spendine too much time messing about with cars ;D With me its a combination of time and missus. I find most of my hobby costs me next to curse word all really compared to everything else in life. Rent on the workshop is quite expensive but without it i wouldnt be able to do half of what i can so its a necessary evil.

Think its money for me too. I'm lucky in one respect in that I can fabricate bits, but when it comes down to buying stuff in it tends to be a struggle. My girlfriends great, helps me do the car when I need a hand. I've told her i'm gonna teach her to weld then she can do the project and i'll take a managerial role lol.
I wish I had the money to just buy car bits. At the moment I have to do a bit of wheeling and dealing to get what I need. Up until just over 10 years ago my mum and dad were in the same situation, but now they've got plenty of money they just save it up. Luckily i've managed to convince them that its better spent, so my dads on the lookout for a '68 Roadrunner and my mums planning on retiring 10 years early.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

lack of time mostly.
lack of support/inteest from SWMBO means other things take priority.
and same counts for cash too.
but technically, what causes most headaches is faults relating to engine control systems / vac hoses / ECU / sensors / piepwork which I don't understand.
