Whilst googling for ideas for different choice of engine for my mk3 Escort, i came across this 2.1 zetec turbo conversion fitted in a rather nasty mk3 fiesta i know, but bear with me.... what made me stop in my tracks was that this fiesta clocked 178mph on an officially timed run at Bruntingthorpe
Zetecs will go into allsorts of retro cars, including mine ;D thaught this might be of interest to some of you.
Now you know you have to tell your mummy when using sharp knives don't you? Those Tamiya kits can be dangerous if your parents aren't watching you. And that nasty glue is dangerous too.... I'd get your dad to build the "tripple valve" Proton kit for you if I were you.
Egged on by my dad (and against the wishes of the other half) I'm now VERY tempted to zetec the Escy wagon.... basically my dad's mate has offered his services at pretty much £0 to fit silly engines into it as he's quite intrigued to work out how it's done....just for fun like!
(oh and what's all this silly nessy business about AGAIN... here's the challenge then NESSY you wussy curse word cake - bring yo' sad lickle ass down to RCS and tell us where we're all going wrong?! you might need to get your mum to strap you in your booster seat before you leave though...)
It's owned by a guy on PassionFord, member name "Sunny". He's been building the car up for years and I believe M.A.Developments put it all together. It would cost a small fortune to build up an engine to the same spec I think.
That's bloody amazing! A Fiesta doing supercar speed?! Admittedly the bodykit doesn't do much for me but the engineering in that car certainly does! I really would love to see that thing running, preferably at a set of traffic lights being challenged by neds that don't know what hit them!
