Apparently he had a fatal heart attack whilst testing a Camaro at Silverstone. I'm actually physically shocked. I'll be raising a glass for him tonight. He was a true hero.

No way One of my heros. A proper racing driver of the old school. None of this Gym fit, healthy eating, t total curse word. Just how racing drivers should be. I have had the pleasure of seeing him race and he was fantastic.. Gerry Marshall Rest in peace.

Terribly sad news.... I saw him race in the '70s and obviously since then - what a complete hero!
TopTaff and I will raise a glass for him tonight.

Hadn't heard this until I logged on here. Sad to learn about the passing of a true British motorsport legend, but if it was his time, I'm sure he would have wanted to go behind the wheel of a fast motor.

He was a legend that drove amoungst us.
He was my hero too - he lived life to the max and did all the things I've aspired to in my short life.
Hope the roads are clearer in heaven, mate. We'll miss you.

Just cos something is good for you doesn't mean its good for everyone - for example Marmite does not make good Dog Food.
