I'm fairly new to collecting 1/43rd scale cars. I was bought a Corgi BTCC cavalier (always been a big John Cleland fan) the Christmas before last and this year added McRae liveried ph1 309 and Richard Burns 309 gti16.
I think my next purchase will be an Ecurie Ecosse BTCC cavalier. I've also got my eye on Rover vitesse's in BSCC, DTM, ETC & BTCC flavours!
My uncle has been collecting 1/43 models for years and has hundreds. We always used to get him in trouble when when returning from race meetings and announcing to my auntie that he had purchased another one of the "bloody little cars" - her words!
That van looks the business. Helped my brother on his E36 today and as I was leaving he asked if I'd like to rebuild his Gemballa Avalanche. Um, yes! These were made by Revel in two colors (and two colors convertible) and sold assembled. He has some not perfect loose spares so I'll dig in, this won't be super detailed just nice enough to go on the display with the others fresh out of the box. He purchased some of the aftermarket wheels; Veilside Andrews that he thought would look good and while they aren't my style it's his car. I'll have to make brakes since they are going to show here which it didn't previously. I drilled the rivets and hinges so that they can be threaded later and disassembled the pieces. Started stripping to find that one of my cans was empty and the other was nearly so. So that's where we set. I did start mocking up the slight lowering of the chassis as well, I'll picture that later My daughter thinks it should be very pink which it may well be, I'll hit up the hardware store tomorrow after church and see what colors speak to me.

I've got these going on at the minute. I take forever to build anything though...
Ferrari 250 GTO with £75s* worth of photo etch to go on it!
Nissan Skyline C110 GT-R with Hayashi Street rims
Honda Monkey Bike
Also have about 60-70 unbuilt kits ranging from Hot Rods & Kustoms, Classic Americans, JDMs, VWs, Porsches, Ferraris, trucks, all sorts, as well as various tanks, planes, ships... I'll get round to them one day
Well hello there! Guess it's at least 2 years since I posted anything in here.... And so, The Photobucket page went through some update and PB started charging ridiculous sums for using their services, so I deleted my PB account. All my old pics are gone I'm afraid....
However, I still do build plastic model kits in 1/25 scale! And, right now I'm doing a ESCI Renault 5. It's a rallye-car edition which I'm converting to street use!
More pics of my old builds will also follow, stay tuned!
OK, here we go. more of all the 1/24 - 1/25 built up model kits I have in my collection.
1938 VW V303 Prototypes (they built 3 of these in full scale, one Sedan, one Sedan with ragtop and one convertible/cabriolet. I have built the Sedan as a stock replica and the Ragtop Sedan as a Volksrod! The convert is still on my "to do-list)
1939 Ford 2d Coupe
1941 VW Kübelwagen Street Rod

A 1959 Chevy Impala 2d HT, which I originally built as an El Camino back in the late 70's. Later on , mid 80's, I rebuilt it and turned the Camino into a 2d HT using a roof from a Revell 1957 Chevy Bel Air. This is the only decent picture I have right now:
1963 Olds Starfire by Jo-Han models Inc. Built mostly OOTB except for the wheels and then gave it a custom paint job:
1963 Ford T-bird
1966 VW built for a christmas challenge during a 6 weeks period last christmas. I spent 2 weeks abroad so actual building time was less than 4 weeks. I built it as a "slammer" so it has no interior, chassies or engine.
1966/67 VW Convertible by Revell. Modified w Corvair 6 cyl engine
1971 Ford Mustang Grande. Scratchbuilt body by kitbashing a 1973 Fastback and a 1972 Mercury Cougar.
Approx 1974 VW Scirocco

AMC Gremlin Lowrider, totally 11 hours in one day spent building this one!!!
An old HELLER Citroën transformed into a show-rod
All scratchbuilt showrod, inspired by a 1911 Renault:
Modified Red Baron showrod:
Toothache - The Dentist Showrod. Chassies and engine from a funnycar/dragster and the rest is scratchbuilding, using a lot of dental stuff and a pair of bicycle handles with skull pattern for the rear tires:
Police-themed VW-rod. This is how old swedish police-cars were painted up until 1981 or so. This model was built using nothing but the worst leftovers in my parts-bin. About 8-10 different VW's donated parts for the build:
