Love the transformation of the purple kit there, looks far better as a sled than a gasser.

Been a while since I posted in this thread! Some real great stuff being posted up I've started a little project for Christmas, an amt Ford Courier which is really a Mazda B1600 So thats what i'm going to convert it in to. Ditching the 50's step side buck, I plan to scratch build and Oz style tray back. lowering nice and easy on the front cab cleaned up, Couier emblems on the wings removed, not much model filler required these amt kits are usually really nicely molded. Paint is ford emerald green met mini lowering blocks made for the rear springs, poo brown interior. Really got to find some different wheels, but nothing in my spares box really suits it. and what i'm copying ;D differences between the ford and the mazda are bonnet, grill and bumper. Might take a few attempts to make a grill.

I've just started a Tamiya Mini, it comes with a set of Minilites and some other aftermarket alloys, however I want something more Japanese styled, possibly along the lines of SSR MKII's, anyone know if any companies ever made 10 inch equivalent wheels?

Will try Hiroboy for the wheels.i am guessing for 10" you will have to look at some of the smaller scale kits to rob wheels from as the size is not common. Try joining this forum forum.spc.org they could offer some advice.

Try joining this forum forum.spc.org they could offer some advice. I had a feeling I would probably have to drop down a scale. I love that forum, you can lose many an hour staring in awe at peoples work. Will see what they have to say for themselves.

Here's a question for the UK based modellers.
Does anyone know if there is a seller in the UK who sells 1:24 or therabouts models, either diecast or self assembly of the 1960 Chevy C10 Fleetside SWB
Not sure there are many of them around, but worth asking.
Thanks.

I did this one about 13 years ago (I think). Its a 1:24 Hasegawa 1993 Impreza WRC. Like this one: I remember the seatbelts gave me all sorts of nightmares. They had to be cut from a sheet of thin plastic, then each of the aluminum buckles had to be threaded on. It looks pretty cool in the end, but was a right PITA. I had the same kit around the same time, I gave up on the seatbelts after making an of them. I told the bloke in the model shop about the tiny buckles and he said there was no shame in skipping them. I stripped it down and redid it in white a few years later while a pal of my Dad's was campaigning a white Impreza but never got round to putting his numbers and stickers on it. It didn't go back together very well, if I remember.
