I don't think we've had these on here yet: FWD Cavalier/Ascona "C". Getting old now, not as many around as you might think, clean lines and BEGGING for the euro treatment. Just on the retro-cusp I think!

A guy who lives further up my road has a "Cavalier Commander". I think he deals in cars as he always has something a bit different there. I'll go and get a picture, brb

Did we get the two door here? I don't think we did, did we? Mirrors and headlamp sticky bits would go, otherwise

Noice!
It's about time the Chaf-alier was elevated from banger status!
A few years back the MK2 Cav was THE WEAPON OF CHOICE round our way.... owing to them being cheap, easy and tunable.... Many an eve was whiled away hanging out the windows at high speed!
Most of the ones my mates had were fairly boggo 1600's and 1800's, although these were more than adequate enough to see off townies in their muppet fiesta's.... Most of them finished up in ditches though...odd that!
A few guys had the holy grail - the SRi130 - and they were rightfully revered throughout the land!
(Oh and round our parts it was THE LAW that your cav would be running Commander (AKA police / federal spec) steels!)

Where my girlfriend works is a silver Cavalier SRi saloon in the carpark. It's an early one with the smaller bumpers, it's a bit tired but still sharp

They're getting quite rare now - I never see them on the roads, or even in the scrappers I saw a Mk2 Cav cabrio a couple of weeks ago though! I'm loving the 2-door version! Shame we didn't get them over here (we didn't, did we?!). Much prefer the saloon body to the hatchback too.

me and tonycc were discussing this very issue the other day and ,even tho i hate novas of the same age, we came to same conclusion. these cavs are right on the cusp of coolness. really fanciying a sri130 saloon with euro treatment but bog standard bodywork , trim decals the lot

we did get the two door here, but only for a couple of years and only in povo spec 1300 flavour. Are there any of these left? Agreed these are DEFO DEFO DEFO close to coolness. PS i'll have some pics of an old rwd ascona available for beer money next week if anyone wants one.

Most expensive car I've ever bought was a MK2 Cav.... '84 'A' plate 1600L hatch in china blue, round about 1992.... £850
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

I remember my mates dad had a non metallic blue SRi drove it at high speed every where, although how fast I couldn't tell you as he had disconnected the speedo/millometer so when he came to selling it, he could get more for it, it was replaced by a rover 600 which got the same treatment
