I love these Celica's, they are one of the nicest looking cars ever made anywhere. The stance of yours is spot on. And your mates Surf is awesome. I've got one of these and would love to do the same. Any chance he will post details of how it was done on here?

a well, I'm ashamed to say that since i took the car of the road back in october, despite having lots of plans to do stuff to it, ive not touched it. the daily sportrak has hogged a bit of my time, and money, - new clutch ,tyres etc and just kinda lost interest for a bit. that changed yesterday tho... i found my Mojo- it was down the back of the sofa!! i have got a weeks hols from work. after a few years of umming and ahhhiing over a colour for the car i kinda jumped in and bought some paint. just so maybe id get on with it instead of thinking a bit more and changing my mind yet again. this has prooved to be a hoooj mojo boost. have now started to flat the old paint and get the car ready to spray. got a few bits to sort first, holes where the side indicators went, the aerial from the a pillar has left holes and also going to remove the mirrors so some holes in the doors, got new mirrors on the way, just gotta get over to Kfw's to pick em up. hopefully start the holes in a coupe of days, then a bit more rubbing down and hoping to get it painted by next week (if all goes to plan) i do love matt black, but time for a change

cheers ladies, got a tiny bit more done wanted to smooth out where the side indicators go. the factory ones are big clumsy looking things. i got a pair of us spec ones a few years ago a bit flusher but still a bit meh. also had holes left where the door mirors off welded the holes up... got carried away and forgot to get more pics anyhow... reason for removing the door mirrors was to fit these. Ex MM jdm via kfw ftw love em... will look better when in the same colour as the body got some more flatting down done today hopefully be ready to slap some paint on next weekend.

woohooo... well done on the Mot matey am hoping to get this painted and be at the show too... will get in touch closer the time . iof the weathers as good as it has been this week , it should be a good day out made a bit of progress, a bit slow but getting there. stripped the lights and bumpers off lots of rubbing down and filling then some primer then cleared enough space to get around the car and got it up on axle stands- i painted my first celica years ago.. looked ok untill i noticed how thin the paint was along the sills. so don't wanna make that mistake again more flatting, more primer, more flatting and yep.. more primer think this is it now tho. got some more primer on tonight , will rub it down after work tomorrow and hopefully thats it. just gotta bodge me makeshift booth up and with a bit of luck will paint it on saturday. tax on monday and back on the road for the summer- well, untill the Mot a week later

bought myself a Ghetto spray booth from Asda! dust sheets, £1 each, pegs £1 a pack. bargain degreased, tack rags and soaked the floor with water in a desperate attempt to keep the dust down couple of light coats then a few heavier/wet coats had a couple of runs, have flatted those out today and flatted the whole car again in 1200 wet n dry. last few coats this weekend hopefully. one thing thats been bugging me for ages is the chrome. i know i should keep it, but i really want to have it all in black. don't want to paint it incase i want to go back to chrome in the future. have got some tape in gloss black. its a pretty good match too and maybe get the bumpers vinyl wrapped in gloss black too

Like the spray booth ;D, ,given me some Ideas How's it coming along ? Cheers cheers slacky have been flatting the paint again... a couple of runs, but the bonnets gone totally gay... funny reaction in a couple of places, so gotta try sort that out. but no worries as I'm gonna have to take the bonnet off soon to sort the dodgy hinge. if need be ill spray the whole bonnet again off the car. but also hae another bonnet that might be in slightly better nick so may swap em over. today I'm hoping to ge ta few more coats on the car. will update tonight. then gotta start ptting it all back together. taxed now to(once the disc arrives) ooohhh... slacky- car show is at st asaph, week on sunday 15th , if ya free pop over , was a good turn out last time. also if ya contact the guy in the above link, book a place, ya get to bring ya car in and free entry
