Here's the actual reasons:
a. They rust a lot. b. They're not Fords. c. The HB is easier to tune. d. They've got transverse leaf front suspension. e. Despite point d. loads of 'rodders stuck their front suspension under Pops!

Fantastic car! ;D Love the way that HAs just aren't the obvious choice, but a Zetec'd one makes for a great usable car. [Edited: Missed the first page first time 'round. D'oh! ]

yes this is the replacement - just the wings are from the old car, and the engine and box in the mock up pics are from the original car.

Buying a BMW or a Bentley & looking cool is easy, but the credit doesn't go to you.Taking an unloved car that cost £500 & making it good enough to get photos in magazines or stand out alongside cars that cost one hundred times more is a skill reserved for us loonies!

That looks really cool especially with the 5 spokes. I will be picking up a HA in the next week or two for a little project and was wondering if you could tell me what size wheels and tyres you're running???

6x14 with 185/55x14 but has narrowed axle and modified front end.. Best to stick to about 6x13 with185/60x13 thats what we ran on the original car ut you still have to do some clearancing on floor pans. If you need any more help let me know.
