Right, here's our plan:
Meet at Thurrock services (just North of the Dartford crossing) BEFORE 07:30 06:45 Sunday morning. We will leave at 07:30 06:45 prompt and travel anticlockwise on the M25 to the M1 then M1 North to J14. Then local roads (through Olney and Bozeat) to the 'Pod.

This sounds like a plan - what time do you reckon you'll be at Toddington? I think it would be a good idea to be at Pod by 8:30...... me Sorry,.. I'd like to be as early as possible,.. you never know what disasters may befall us/the show/the stand before we get there That's very true...... maybe we should aim to meet at Toddington about 7:30 ish........

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Standard AA routefinder timings suggest Thurrock > Toddington = 1hr 5m and then a further 45 minutes to Santa Pod.

I'm in two minds whether to cruise down with the convoy at the moment, reason being I don't have a ticket and will have to pay at the gate. If I cruise down at the same time I'm going to end up waiting about outside the gates for a while getting bored on my own, or I could go leave about an hour later and use my radar senses so I don't get lost then join the queue, pay up and enter without the boring wait. So if you don't see me at 6.45 then you'll know why

Lee, it would be good to have you on the cruise, and I'm sure that a car pass from HotWire will get you around any gate problems, even without a ticket. Maybe HotWire can furnish us with some more details? Either way, I'll see you on the day mate.

I was up at the gate for most of the morning last year and no queue formed,.. so I think you'll be driving pretty much straight in anyway. If you convoy in with us I'm sure we can bustle you through the gate anyway

Following a subtle hint from RMad, I'm thinking about whether or not to join the convoy - I have a few questions though: 1) What's the final timetable? 2) Out of interest, what's the likely cruising speed? 3) Is HotWire still in this convoy, and if so, can I collect a car pass from you at Thurrock? 4) What's the score re fuel stops? (The Amazon only has a 200 / 250 mile range.) Cheers! Paul
