They are more sought after than a punch in the face. Its not a mk2 escort mexico tho! Ford geeks don't like them because they built them with the drive train plan upside down.

to be honest I'm surprised the euro boys haven't started on them, not much difference between a fez and a golf is there?

Took me forever to sell mine, solid as a rock, loads of new bits on it, only an 1100, eventually took £350.00 for it to a guy that was gonna do a zetec conversion. Probably worth more in bits?

They are increasing in popularity, depends on condition, how much you had it advertised for & where you advertised it

I was looking for one a year or so back (Until finances fell through) and will be looking for another in the coming months. They are popular... just have to target the right people!
(Out of interest, how much was it up for?)

was advertised on here and a copuple of other forums as I would prefer it to go to an enthusiast first, its in very good nick and requires no welding, gonna run it in for an MOT this week and then put it on the 'bay

What about a couple of photys then? Ive checked your for sale thread and theres no pic, location, details of good or bad points, anything really. If you want 350 for an un-MOT'd fiesta you're gonna have to expend some minimum level of effort unfortunately.

Plus being up in bonnie Scotland is going to work against you, less people to sell to since most of us are down here in England and a lot of us down south.

It would need to be a minter too for that money.
tbh if theres any more than minor rust on one its worthless, the market is flooded with ones in great condition.
I would say fiestas are popular but the fact that theres millions of them kind of cancels it out when it comes to money. (a good thing maybe!)

I quite like mk1 fezzas. They are on my list of future possibilities. You really don't see them on the roads often, and I AM quite sick of the golf scene. Okay, I do like the creative results of the scene, but golf golf golf gets boring after a while. The mk1 fiesta has had very little attention in comparison, but it is a technically similar car. Time for a change of canvas if you ask me!
I think I actually prefer the looks of the mk1 fiesta to the golf as well. The design looks a bit more delicate and lightweight.
I can imagine them taking off in popularity at some point. The VW scene keeps on looking back as well as forwards.. People are modding both the new and the old. On the other hand, the FWD Ford scene is very biased towards the new. Lots of modded up mk3 and onwards fiestas, but not the earliest ones.

rusty makes a good point.
they are a small, strong car, with good engines in the 1300 and 1600 versions, cant complain about the smaller ones, iv heard of a va doing 300k on a 1.1 without a rebuild.
pretty much every bloke in there 30's 40's has owned one and looks lovingly (honest) at it when i drive past. also gives some people a shock off the lights as because its old it must be slow, mines a 1300 and completely standard under the bonnet, for now, and iv kept up with mk6's with ig exhausts ;D
mine does nearly 40mpg and i do 200 miles a week in it

For a min effort thread its getting some responses! Good question I suppose. They were not worth a lot when I had mine. Paid £500 for an XR2 in 1998 fugging ages ago, so i guess thats mk3 money, the classic ford and old skool lot, were keen on real old skoolers being RWD but the dudes are voting with their wallets now, and i think they are going up in value, but then as said there are some neat ones out there, mine went rotty, so now gone to China and back! ;D As for a Golf I agree with rusty bits, VW are a more solid rock steady car, and better looking too, though I think Fords have more character and lighter. I've had two rusty old fiestas, ok make that 3 but this is the best! I'd have a golf 1 if I got offered one, wouldn't have a MK1 again, well it'd have to be bloody nice ;D

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Due to the "scene tax" that has engulfed Mk1/2 Escorts & Cortinas, Fiesta's & Anglias are becoming more & more popular so prices have started to go up recently (Not massively in the Fezzas case admitedly)
