Hi all, Bit more time spent on the lip, I’ll let the pics do the talking.        Left it overnight so the paints not super soft and will get it fitted tomorrow, it’s not perfect but I’d say 90% seen as it’s made out of something for a completely different car that I’ve chopped up and made fit the Volvo. Volvo's looking really good! I think i'd be tempted to spruce up the front wheels to match the "new" look of the refurbed rears, but i kinda like the mismatch too. Great work on the splitter and spoiler

This looks ace, really like the homebrew body kit. Thank you mate! I’m actually feeling it now it’s all come together for sure! Especially seen as most of it was old a free haha, did start as bit of fun but it’s been a good learning curve trying new things and learning new skills! |

Yeah to be fair they were very original when I got them but keeping them clean over the winter with the jet was some gold has flaked off so I’m going to paint them again, not sure if they’ll be gold again or maybe the enamel red cause I’ve got some left over? Not decided yet! |

Nipped up to the unit I get to use on and off (real lucky for me!) to fit the splitter for good! it’s been on and off loads so only took 5 mins to fit for the final time now it was a bit more dry.      Real chuffed with the styling now! Got a few little patches to weld up of surface/small holes. But nothing scary for one of these before the next MOT. Did also manage to score a pretty hard to come by side draft Weber manifold for the little b14 engine. Probably only add 10hp on its own but maybe a Kent cam and homemade exhaust manifold I’d be absolutely buzzing with 90/100hp from it with snorty noises. Just got to find a reasonable carb to rejet next! Thanks! Lou   |

I think these have got a really apparent like “underbite” from the factory and just looks like there something missing from the bottom of the car |

Went to the Volvo yard meet at caffeine and machine which is a 200 mile trip and the car was faultless.  Still after a single Weber DCOE carb for the project if anyone has one lying around they’d like to part with! Thanks! Lou |

Managed to get my hand on a decently priced carb that’s come off a 1500 MGB, I’ll take it apart and clean it out but it’s a good baseline. I’ll take the filter off and straighten it all out too so it’s back usable 🤙🏻    I also took the dremel to the front grille and got rid of the stripe and it’s plastic mounts, it was just something that always really bugged me about the car how big it was and how much it covered the egg box style grille underneath. Lumpy cam next then ?? 😂 👍 You know what mate maybe, Kent cams said they’d regrind one for this engine but I’d have to work out what size pushrods I’d need cause it’s not OHC like I’m familiar with. |

As long as you don’t go mental , all the standard stuff should still be ok .
Something like a fastroad/rally cam would be ideal .
More torque & little on the top end .

I’ll probably have a chat with them myself properly so I know what I’m on with |

Another little update tonight. Always wanted to do this styling wise seen as I love ae86 but not being able to afford one they’re a big inspiration for the Volvo styling wise.  Picked up some Lucas fx65 spot lights as I’d measured up and they’d roughly fit the gap/style of the car period correctness wise.    Made a simple bracket up that pics up on some factory holes and tucks the light in as close to the headlight as I could get. Got it mounted up with a couple mm to spare for the bolt on the fog lamp and the top of the grille mount.    And then hidden with the grille on.   Just the other side to make and the brackets to paint. I’ll tint the lenses of the fog lights yellow when they’re done too I think! Thanks! Lou |
