I suppose my earliest experience would have to be when I was bought home from the hospital in my dads Singer Vogue when I was born. I will own a 60's Singer Vogue in grey primer one day.

Well I've always liked cars, but I'd say the moment I started to be propppperrrly car mad was when I was in my Dads modified Sierra Saph Cosworth when I was only afew years old, feeling of speed got to me.

I was brought home from the hospital as a newborn baby in a Daimler Majestic with a preselector gearbox... into which my dad had put a Ferguson diesel tractor engine cos the Daimler lump was knackered.
Sadly no photos.

My earliest memory car-wise is going on holiday to Porthcawl in 1967 in Dad's Mk2 Zephyr, pulling a gigantic caravan he borrowed off a mate, and getting completely stuck in the mud on the campsite. Funny how vivid that memory is, even though I wasn't quite 3 yrs old! I've got pics somewhere, will have to scan em.

Hundereds of great ones, from the Fiat 500 that I was almost born in, the ovlov estates that my dad continually killed, numerous allegro's, marinas and my fave of all the Mk1 escy estate in beige - how I wish he would have kept that one! Also, 505 GRD Estate FTW! 300k on the clock and more pickup than car underneath by the end of its life!

i got brought home from hospital in an imp( funny that) got regular rides to school in an assortment of cars including minxes,a vogue ,A35,zeph mk3,simca rallye1 ,wolseley farina (which was also the first car i drove age 7) and best of all a zodi mk4,which was cool cos all my mates mums had silly little cars and i roll up in something with a bonnet the size of hms ark royal.second car i ever drove was an army landie ,courstesy of hm gov aged 8.in fact the zeph could be seen driving round south london at all hours day and night with my dad at the helm and little me in the back ,as a ploy to get me off to sleep, nothing else worked.

since its not technically our first memory of cars, just our first association with them about a week before i was born, my mum was driving one of these around a field tedding hay (making it into rows for bales) I'm sure thats why i like engine noise, especially clattering tappets ;D the first car memory that i can be certain of (ie not based on pics just memory) would be my mums 1500 lada estate (old shape with round headlights) my dad had fitted a webber carb and 'sport' cam (he had a dealership so they were optional extras ) it was white with a full length roofrack. had it for ages until it was using more oil than petrol. i still want one, and one day i will ;D

I was bought home from hospital, in 1957, in an Austin Devon van with rear seat and window conversion. My son was collected in our S reg Skoda 105S in 1984 and daughter in A reg Capri 1.6LS in 1996.

You can just about see me, aged 3 months, in my father's 1937 Austin Seven Opal (my head is next to the steering wheel): I don't remember the Austin, but I have many memories of the 1936 Lagonda Rapier which replaced it (I'm one of the oiks in the back of this picture):

Not my earliest memory but one of the earliest ones I have a picture of, I'm in the passenger seat of the white one. Nearly 30 years on and still owned by my father.
