How many miles roughly?
Top up to the mark and see how long it takes to do it again. Sometimes garages are a bit mean about filling to the top mark as oil is expensive. Very sharp practice but most wouldn’t check on collecting so would be none the wiser……
Mate of mine had a major falling out with a franchised Volvo dealer on this very matter.

Nick We don't normally fill to the max mark on the dipstick at work. But thats because the online data for capacity is to be taken with a pinch of salt. And diesels are never filled to max, anywhere between the 2 marks is fine (also allows some headroom for oil dilution with DPF regeneration that way )

So after yet more aggravation, the cause was finally tracked down to a hairline crack in the head. New head, new gaskets, and been absolutely fine for a couple of months now.
