Getting paid to do it, is mostly what motivates me.... but it’s ingrained in me, and has been for years, to keep cars clean and the paint in good condition. That’s lovely , also like I tell most people A good wax treatment every few months and a quick wash suddenly becomes very easy the dirt and debris just falls off The father in law hates cleaning his cars But a few tips from me and as he told me it’s become an easy job , if people can’t be bothered and go to the local car park car wash that’s ultimately up to them But say a hundred cars a day washed with the same wash mits and harsh chemicals that definitely isn’t my kind of thing

Fair play to you - some great examples of work there! I really wish I could be bothered - but I find cleaning/polishing slightly soul destroying as I know it won’t take long for my good work to get undone... I’m genuinely asking as I want to know - How do you not feel like that? Do you find the process itself a calming thing to do? Is it for the visual gratification of being able to stand back and see the results straight away? It's a bit of both. I find it's almost like meditation. You channel your mind into doing it and it takes you away from all those people and things that were getting on your wick. I feel more relaxed after.

I feel more relaxed after. I'm no professional but I can 100% relate to this. I bought a Das6 polisher last year and spent far too much on pads and products (I went for Sonax stuff, seems to work very well) and there's just something so relaxing about switching off from everything else and getting really stuck in to every single inch of a car. Therapeutic.

I machined, polished and waxed a Citroen C1 at the weekend weekend. The products I used are probably more valuable than the car itself but I found it very relaxing and it's appearance shouldn't shock the MOT tester too much now!

Yep it’ll be a pleasure to do the truck Looking forward to meeting up after absolutely months...socially distanced off course👍 I will be indoors doing Cajun roast chicken, glazed BBQ ribs and chilling a few beers. That, along with a few big lumps of tiger bread on the side in an attempt to balance the books.

Now that’s a nice save ^^^^^ Thanks Dan, I put another 10000 miles on it before selling it on, it was a VVC with the t tops, leather and working Aircon, it's not been on the road since it left me and a coach backed into it in the chaps yard a couple of months ago so it needs a wing and a bumper now. I should never have sold it

Good work. Here’s some retros I’ve done, I valet for a living... so just picked the ones that fit in here best. Some lovely work there but I picked this picture because I think I have the same cutting compound - I have a rotary Polishing machine but I've only ever used it with very mild polishes (eg "Lime Prime" Dodo Juice) as I'm a bit frightened to use something stronger but the current daily has a few marks on the surface of the paint and being black has it's fair share of swirls - I guess I need to MTFU

Some beautiful work here on some lovely cars, I have to admit that while I love clean cars I sometimes don't keep mine as clean as it should be, I will say though Dan I thought the 190 was stunning and I would never have sold it 😁😁 Nigel
