Mine showed up on Friday Night. I had a call saying it was on its way from Copart York, but wouldn't arrive until 6-6:30PM. As I had to shoot off that night, I left instructions for it to be left in front of our shutter and the keys to go through the letterbox. Well, I kept checking the works CCTV from my phone and it hadn't shown. Then I looked again about 9pm and turned out it arrived around 8:30.
So, I didn't see it until Saturday Morning. So far, very impressed with it and very happy. Bit of a headscratcher as to why it has been classified as Cat S. Maybe Import spec makes insurance assessors run scared, but definitely nothing structural about it. Suspension is all fine. Still tracks straight and true, or 95% at worst. It will be put on the Hunter 4 wheel alignment system this week.
So, it needs new nearside front door, sliding door and wing. 30 seconds on eBay brings up all of these required panels (in black and silver 2-tone) in Wolverhampton very cheaply. The seller even delivered them free of charge on Saturday evening.
It also needs a new Rider sideskirt and the alloy wheel on the NSF has a bit of a chunk out of the spokes towards the centre. An Elgrand specialist in Hull has both of these items, so I should have them delivered this week.
The panels that came Saturday were very straight. Just a few very minor dings to sort. These have been repaired, prepped and painted today. It will all be panelled up tomorrow. Will end up painting the whole side no doubt being 3-stage pearl, but all in all a very quick and cheap repair.
I will also get a new spacesaver as the old one looks past it. I will also fit 4 new tyres as I only run top end tyres, plus give it a full and thorough service and detail. It's a very, very straight vehicle aside from the damage. Roof hasn't been cleaned very often and the tailgate aperture etc need a good deep clean. Interior is very good, but previous owner was a smoker, which I can't abide in vehicles. The usual cheap Chinese headunit they get fitted upon import needs ditching for a decent Alpine unit. Followed by a few other upgrades and subtle changes, but otherwise I'm fully happy with how it is out of the box.
Just need to figure out how everything works as much of it is in Japanese! I think everything works apart from possibly the nearside rear electric pop-out window.
